XS Games will develop the shoot-'em-up as it eyes a Q3 release in North America.

Commando: Steel Disaster is a new side-scrolling shoot-'em-up from Lexicon Entertainment and XS Games that is set to come out for DS in North America in Q3 2008. The game appears to be very reminiscent of SNK's Metal Slug series as it uses a similar graphical style.

The game was previously announced in Europe and is set to release there on May 9th.

Yep, I'm hoping it'll be decent. Though I'm worried the genre might be easy to mess up.
