Activision to Pledge Three Wii Titles

You can expect a trio of titles from the company on Nintendo's next console.

According to GameSpot, Mark Griffith, CEO of Publishing at Activision, expanded on what the company's got planned for the next fiscal year (which extends until March of 2007), saying that three games would be released on the Nintendo Wii.

It's important to note that these titles are not necessarily planned for launch day, although Griffith said that they'll release "in very near proximity to the hardware launch." Also, support for the new console is reported to be much stronger throughout its lifespan than was present on the GameCube. Specific titles haven't been mentioned, but it's likely that we'll find out about them within the next few months as the Wii prepares to launch later this year.

About the jist of it. Only Activision game I own from last generation was one of the Bloody Roars, a Hudson Soft game no less, which was an entertaining button masher although hardly amazing by any means.

Better support than for GameCube is a good sign, though.

Activision publishes for iD Software. Perhaps they'll make a Wii game?

A new Bond title, since they now have those rights. ...although perhaps they would spend more time on these than EA does and it could be awhile before the next actually materializes (but I doubt it).

They wouldn't release Spiderman 3 a half-year before the movie hits...Try again... face-icon-small-smile.gif

We know Tony Hawk and Call of Duty (is it CoD 3, or is it a wholly original CoD Gaiden for the Wii?) more or less as a given.

Maybe another Lost Kingdoms game?

Oh yeah, I forgot they publish those in the states, guess that would make my tally of Activision games go to two for this generation. Anyway, if Software did make another one I could see myself buying it, although in the budget range, if the controller played a nice role in it. Although, considering that Software does handle distribution of the title in Japan, I would doubt that Activision would toss it into a list like this... but who knows.

"From Software"

Hm, Lost Kingdoms with better control over summoned monsters...
