The Wireless Adapter allows players to link their GBAs without the standard link cable. It was developed with Motorola and has a range of several meters. The adapter comes bundled with Pokèmon Fire Red and Leaf Green and is also sold separately.
In Japan, special base stations installed at stores or other locations also allow players to connect to each other from a distance via the Internet. There are no announced plans for such features in other regions.
