Get your game on wireless, plus tons of other tidbits.

The wait for Mario Golf: Advance Tour has been quite a long one, but it appears that the long wait will not have been in vain. New details released about the title have revealed that there is a lot of work going into the title.

The biggest announcement is that the game will come bundled with the new Wireless Link adapter, which is also currently included with Pokèmon Fire Red and Leaf Green. The game features a bevy of modes including story, quick play, and multiplayer. Players will also have access to status, options, and a golf dictionary.

The story mode, which continues from the previous game, lets players chose from either a male or female golfer to play as. The other gender will be created along side as a partner. Both will gain experience as the game continues. Though they only begin with seven clubs, players will be able to expand their collection up to 16 by linking with other players (through wired or wireless link). Also, one character will create clubs for players later on in the game.

On the connectivity side of things, players will be able to transfer their characters from Advance Tour up to Mario Golf on the GameCube. There is also a cheer/jeer editor that will allow you to expand your list of congratulatory and harassing remarks. Finally, there are courses that can only be unlocked if the two versions of the game are linked together.

I was kinda wondering the same thing SuperLink666. Are those new courses for the cube game or for the GBA game, i am guessing it's for the GBA game but it would be awesome if there was an unlockable cube course left!! hmmm...

I think the new courses are unlocked in Advance Tour, not Toadstool Tour.

Its a shame that the wireless feature only applies to a select few. Pity, since the N-Gage and the Tapwave have wireless capabilites but don't have breakout games. Strange no?

I'm no engineer, but how hard would it be to do something a la Wavebird?

That is being applied to the DS as well as being considerd for the GameBoyNext... face-icon-small-thumbsup.gif

I think there's a third-party wireless adapter for the GBA that acts like a normal link cable.
Additionally Lik-Sang reported that the Famicom Mini series is compatible with the wireless adapter.
