Well, mumei, i have played AlttP all the way to the end, and the only thing i noticed about upgrading your weapon was a different color and a stronger hit. What i meant was that there should be only 1 real master sword, and that you should be able to switch between different weapons like in OoT.
But i guess you are right that there should be different one-handed weapons so that you can still use a shield. More like MM, but still being able to switch back to previous swords.
Guess I'm the only guy from the Netherlands... Oh well, just as long as I get to discuss Zelda-thingies!

So you're asking for a more complex form of what is already in WW?  I wouldn't doubt it... ^_^

But it would already be the one real Master Sword... All you are doing is making it stronger.  And the Golden Sword could kill almost all normal enemies in one hit .  But I don't see why it is a problem to have the option to upgrade the Master Sword.

I don't think anyone here is actually against upgrading the Master Sword. We were simply explaining why they haven't done it like that since ALttP.

Can't argue with that, mumei, only thing i DO want is that IF they re-introduce the golden sword, you should still be able to see it is the Master Sword, not making it look more like the Gilded Sword.
You see, ever since OoT's Master Sword, there has been made shall we say "a standard" of what the Master Sword should look like. I don't want Ninty to screw this by making the golden sword something completely different than the Master Sword it has been made of. But i guess we both understand eachother now, right?

All they need to do is upgrade the blade part. The hilt should remain unchanged, apart from possibly the gem. OOOOO!
Maybe you should be able to imbue your blade with certain powers!
Fire- Blade burns and gem is red, sears foes, v. effective against woodland beasts, useless against water beasts.
Water - blade takes on a more bluey sheen, blue gem, good against fire, bad against wood, can be used underwater
Wood - Blade turns into wood, green gem, good against water, useless against fire, can be used like deku sticks (blade grows back)
Shadow - Blade turns black, purple gem, bad against fire, certain enemies only hurt by this
Spirit - Blade turns Yellow, Orange gem, kills ghosts with one hit, super effective against all weak normal enemies
Light - Blade burns with white fire and grows longer. Gem is White. Kills all with one hit.

At least then the people giving you their help in OoT would make sense.

Edit: Made some rubbish JPEGs of what the swords might look like. Check em out . They are arranged in suggested abtainment order.

Normal Sword
Forest Sword
Fire Sword
Water Sword
Shadow Sword
Spirit Sword
Evil's Bane: The Blessed Master Sword

I'd never want them to change the hilt; that is actually the coolest part, in my opinion... It just wouldn't be the Master Sword without that trademark hilt.

I hope you realise that the hilt has been changed several times. It was red in one of the older games, quite round in OoT but quite angular in WW.

I like the hilt. That's why I made the more spectacular powers come from the gem and the trforce rather than engulf the whole thing.

Hmm... I guess I wasn't paying attention.  I played OoT first, then went back and got a SNES (again T_T.  My younger brother had sold it at a garage sale *shakes fist*) and a bunch of other games that I had been wanting recently from my cousin who hated most of the games he was selling me (all but the Mario games).  He was selling me Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Super Mario All-Stars, Tetris Attack, Street Fighter II, Earthbound, Super Metroid, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.  How much was he asking for all this?  Only 70 dollars =).  Ripoff time (>^.^)> .

So I got ALttP after OoT, and I guess I saw what I wanted to see ^_^;;.
