probably won't be able to. the only laptop i've ever seen with a video input is a $3000 sony at best buy...
normally the s-video on a laptop is output only. what brand/model of laptop do you have?

Dell , its probaly a s video out ooohhh well i conveince my parents to buy a hd tv with progressive scan

How about putting the laptop in a port replicator. That should give you s video input.
