This game looks amazing. Although by the teaser video, it leaves it open for the gameplay to FPS, or the even bigger difference, non-still backgrounds (I forget the words for it). This could add a whole new dynamic to the game, and take the series to another level if Capcom could somehow do this.

I just can't wait for this game, unfortunately it is scedhuled in 2004, so we got a long way to go.

You mean Real-Time backgrounds instead of Prerendered.

Yes RE4 has the best graphics in the world putting Halo 2 and Doom 3 to shame
well, not to shame, but certainly some competition. Now who says the GCN aint as powerful as the Xbox

Anyway, I just hope the game is as perfect gameplay wise as it looks graphically. So far it already looks better than the Realtime stuff from REmake so Capcom really are capapble of wonders.

BTW, I just got REmake for 20$ of ebay, was that a good deal?

I've actually been seeing the REmake for pretty cheap... most major stores have already marked it down to $39.95, and places like EB are selling it used for $24.99.

$20 is not bad at all, though... it's a great game.

As for RE4, I'm looking forward to this pretty hardcore.  I'm also hoping it's the end of the series, like it's supposed to be.  There's been talk since the N64/PSX generation that RE4 was going to be the last one, which would explain why they didn't number Code: Veronica so they could squeak out one more.  Mikami also said he wanted one system that had every RE game on it, and I'm hoping he means every RE game *period*, not just "up until this generation ends."

As much as I love Resident Evil, it's really time to stop convoluting the plot with more and more twists.  It's time for answers, it's time for closure, all of that.  RE4 looks primed and ready to do this.

It's not like they'd have to retire all of the characters... they could always spin off Chris or Jill into post-Umbrella adventures, perhaps military or police-themed games.  That would be very cool too.

personally i think the game will rock
people said that re 4 was started on the ps2 but later turned into devil may cry (an awesome game)
if that is true hopefully we can expect that type of control to re 4
also i wouldnt mind if capcom would use the camera method used for eternal darkness
i call the big one bitey.

I don't thing the control style of DMC would work for Resident Evil 4. DMC is pure frenetic action unlike RE, which uses a more realistic (though rather annoying) control scheme, I think they should fix the robotic controls instead, making the characters more easy to control.

It wont be DMC layout for sure, but I hope they fix the bad control scheme and make it like a full 3d game should be controlled.
RE4 is gonna rock no doubt.

How much more can you really do?  Are they going to kill Wesker again, only to have him resurface?  How about turn Barry traitor again?  More Umbrella compounds, more "accidental outbreaks," it's just wearing very thin.  This needs to be the end of the series if it wants to maintain any sort of respect storyline-wise.

I really hope Capcom have more in the works still, but not necessarily RE.

I hope Dino Crisis 4 goes to GCN.

A few things on my list that RE should do for it to finish of the series (If it is finishing off the series)

1) Extremely Hard! And I'm not just meaning hard, I want every bullet to count, ever herb to heal, and every bad guy to be as hard as Nemesis. I want to spend months on this game, and enjoy the last series.
2) More spoofs. By spoofs, I mean as you walk down a hall, a hand pops out of the window, yanking you at the window. You jump out of your seat to see you've had a near chance of a hear attack.
3) All types and varieties of enemies. The majority of the game is zombies, they should improve on it and change it soo all types of objects are affected. I'd really like to see a swarm of ants, cats with fierce claws, etc. Add variety, and make this game unlike any other.
4) An almost unbeatable boss without a perfect attempt. I want this to be a Nemesis/Tyrant/Virus ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ mix.
5) I also want it to disclose the whole series once and for all. No extra viruses, this is it. Leave no chance for an opening to another part.
6) Two disc game filled to the max. With the RE 1 remake, that only used about 10% (I'm guessing) of the second disc. Capcom should capitalize on the second disc and use it to its full capabilities.

More to come...

Oh boy I cant wait for this game. Its on my top 10 list. i own REmake and RE0, they havent dissapointed me a bit. But RE 4 looks amazing. The graphics are unbelievable and 3D backrounds! I think this is easily going to be the best RE yet.

I agree 100%. If they did all that you said and made it a 500 hour game with 10 discs, it would be the best game of all time! Seriously though, from the screenshots ive seen and the movie i downloaded of RE4, i dont know what all the hype is about, the graphics look below average and we dont know a single thing about the gameplay. Im dont really care about this game yet, hell, im still waiting for Metroid Prime to be released here... *twiddles thumbs*

The graphics are no no way on earth below average. Just look at Leons character model, he must be the most detailed character in a game ever. Just check out his leatherjacket and hair etc.

And also keep in mind that everything is in full 3d and also that the game still has over a year of development time.
This game will be the graphics milestone games will be measured by. What game looks better?

Doom III by far has superior graphics to any game I have seen, according to their screenshots, and it is still in developement.

On the Console Race though, I think RE 4 is raising the bar of how good a console can go, in reference to graphics.

I am pretty pumped for RE4.  Amazing Graphics, very atmospheric.  It looks like it is getting back to the fear factor instead of action. I expect nothing but big things from RE4.
