I think that if Sega made a come back then that would more than likly wipe Microsoft out of the game.
I disagree. MS picks up the cool kids with their 'high-tech' system design and 'mature' games. Even a lot of Sony's market seems to trend to this, and games overall are slowly going this way as well. Ever wonder why retro has become som popular with the hard-core crowd, yet flys over the head of casual gamers? The first time I played Megaman was a week ago; I hold no nostalgia in it. Yet it's the first game since Ikaruga that lept up and caught my attention. Anyway, my point is that nintendo and Sega both have an unshakable reputation of producing 'old-style' games, no matter how much either of them deserves it. If the the cool kids want to play Halo, Halo 2, and DOA: Extreme Beach Volleyball, their interest in old-school games will probobly be minimal.
But yeah, if Sony vanished then MS would dominate the North American games market. As a gamer, I went from seeing Sony as the new kid ruining the industry in the 64 generation with their
awsome FMV, to now seeing MS as the new kid ruining the industry with their
awsome games - well, game - that promotes little more than gore and some basic reflex skills. At least in ye olde days the twitch games were forced to vary gameplay instead of just graphics. Now it's just like a fast-paced graphical adventure: point, click, point, click, point, click, point, click, point, click.
