IGN is reporting NOE says that 16 players can play on LAN. I don't know if it is a mistranslation and they meant 16 characters, but it would be nuts playing with 15 other people.

8 Players max can play on 2-8 TVs over lan (A seperate GCN and Copy of MKDD is required).

So you can play 8 players on 2 tvs and all are 4-way split screen.

Or 8 players on 8 tvs all full screen.

Or anything in between.

8 players = 16 characters.

I like the news about a bonus disk, but what will it be. Anything will be nice since I am buying the game nomatter what. Maybe a emulation of Super Mario 64

Probably will just be a demo disk, but that is still cool.

According to IGN, MK will support up to sixteen players, not characters. "Not two, four, or even eight players -- 16 players is what Nintendo of Europe says." Hmm...I just read in the PGC impressions that there are only fourteen characters and that it will support up to 8 cubes.  And the MK info on the NOE site says it supports up to 8 players. So it looks like IGN is wrong (again).

For 16 people able to play, you would need atleast 32 characters in the game

Unless you can use the same which now that i think about it i did see 4 koopa troopas racing at the same time.

32 different characters would be really cool. But somehow I doubt that, heh.

According to the latest EGM, the demo disc may contain Mario Kart 64.  Wouldn't that be a nice addition?  Especially since Block Fort is one of the best multiplayer maps on any system.

According to the tabloid spong.com, Nintendo confirmed Mario cart 64 WILL be bundled.  Alright!  Now we're talking!  I think they should bundle Metroid and Super Metroid along with Prime 2.  Keep it coming!

The only thing that casts a small shadow on the game is the karts. I dont think they look too impresive. They look more like lawn mowers.
I'm sure the game will be great though!

Gamecube advanced has said that they emailed nintendo, and they said that there are no plans to include an emulated version of mariokart 64 with Double Dash at this time. So there is some hope but if they dont it's too bad because, that wouldve been awesome.

The fact that Toad isn't listed as a character makes you assume there will be secret characters  But it's not like I care.  I only use Yoshi.

Doesn't it figure that this one won't be coming out until the day before I ship for Army Basic Training?  Bleh.  Hopefully I'll get it for X-mas and be able to play it over Christmas Exodus.

Here's to hoping )

I still have my 64 and my Mario Kart 64.  No reason for an emulation here.

Cannot wait for this.  But F-Zero and Kirby should keep me satisfied for now.
