Ok, I am 26% complete so far, and am sorta stuck at the moment.  I have just gotten the jump boost upgrade, and am not sure where to go from here.  I havent come across anymore upgrades, and cant seem to move any further without them.  I have the morph ball, boost ball, chrage beam upgrade, heat sheild upgrade, bombs, and about 75 missles.  Can someone point me in the right direction, I assume that I am simply overlooking something.

go back to phendrana shorelines room (in the snow area) and look around for a way to reach the temple on the cliff now that you've got better jumping ability.

after aquiring the space jump, go back to the drifts, and you need to head for the wave beam.  i believe that is the area off to the right from when you come from magmoor.  if thats where the boost ball was, then its striaght ahead and you need to work towards the research core.

mike-opn2000 --- do you have the hint system on?  it always tells you where you need to go...

now i propose my own question.. anyone ever scan in everything?  I am missing about 8 creatures and 1 research thing in my book.  the research one comes after planet zebes, and i know 2 of the creatures i am missing because taht is where i'm at.  i know i scanned everything that i fought so far.. but are their hidden enemies?  i got all the bosses too.

any tips on the final boss also?  he's been kicking my butt around

does anyone know where the last 2 energy tanks and 55 missiles are.. like tricky ones, or harder ones anyways?

I've nearly scanned everything using a nice little guide I found.

Edit: Please note that in the guidelines we specifically tell people not to link to or quote GameFAQs.  Most everyone knows about the place so if they want help there, they can go there on their own. ... Not to mention that we have a guide of our own on PGC. -Bloodworth

thanks buddy.  that site you found helped out.

now i have to start a 3rd game... err this makes me so mad!@

first game -> got an artifact before the "newborn" on at the phendrena's edge, and the game said i didn't have it when i did
i was 72% done too!

2nd game -> at the boss ready to win, while picking up rest of the energy tanks/missiles on my own.. up to 225 now out of 250.  but i somehow didn't scan one of the first few bosses.. the "hive that you have to burn" and also that machine that spits out the wasps.. i somehow didn't scan that either... err!  also for the research, i missed the "ultra" energy, cause i never noticed it.. well i might be able to get that after i defeat metriod prime, but i don't know for sure.  are you able to go and defeat him again if you want, or is the game at an infinate continuation after he is beaten?  i heard from someone else you can go back and find stuff.. but are you still able to fight him again?

mike-- One of the four stone heads (the ones on either side of the hallway that are scannable) is cracked and can be shattered with a missile. Doing this reveals a socket to open the gate.

How do you beat the 2nd form of metriod prime?  i go into the hyper spots and shoot him.. but then they never appear again.  i know no weapons work on him cept the phazon beam.. but i don't see any of those 'hyper mode' areas appearing..

I Dont know why you dont see them, unless your not living long enough, because they continue to appear.  I just beat the game two nights ago, and it is tough.  The only attack he uses is the energy wave, just do a double jump to avoid that, he leaves a puddle of phazon after 4 or 5 shots of the energy wave, so once you find him concentrate on avoiding his attack until he leaves a puddle, the problem is finding him because you have to use three of your visors, you dont use the scan visor, and while your looking for him, he and the smaller metroids are beating the crap out of you. Use the power bomb to get rid of the small metroids before you try to attack Prime or they will punish you. There is another form of small metroid that shows up when you get close to defeating Prime, they have a beam that draws you to them, turn into the ball and boost away from them, kill them with a bomb or the phazon cannon. You want to try and have most of your life left after you beat the first form of Prime, because you definitly need it. Like I said it is a tough fight, but I did it on my third try, just keep at it you'll get him. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I assume you have the boost ball.  It just takes some practice to get higher with it, there is nothing else you need.

mrbojangos... half pipe takes practice, but i succeeded to figure out how that works exactly.

first start in the center of half pipe and charge a full boost (either side doesn't matter) then while in mid air, hold the b button (or whatever to charge another boost) then when in the center of the the half pipe, RELEASE.  it doesn't matter if its weak or full, but you need to release here.  then at while going up the side and coming back down, charge another one.  release this on in the center of the half pipe also.  by continuing to do this, you will go higher and higher, till you have enough time to charge a full one in mid air.

as far as metriod prime goes.. his first form beats the heck out of me, and i get really low on energy for the second form.

his first form shoots these weird bubbles that explode on me, even after shooting them.  then he charges and runs me over without warning.  his ice attack also almost always hits me too.

for his second form.. i dodge most of the attacks, but while i search for him, he gives me a beating off the hyper mode circle area.  then i jump to dodge that simple attack, and *puff* the circle is gone.  the metriod aren't a problem.. i knew to powerbomb them, i also found a safe spot by the body of the first form.. his ground pound can't hurt you there unless from a certain angle.  but when i come out he hits me cause he is above me and i can't see him, or i can't get a chance to stand in the circle long enough to deal him damage.  like towards his lower part of the bar those circles don't seem to last very long at all.  usually i see it, reach it while getting hit with the attack (cause i can't see him and know when/where its coming from) which knocks me off the circle.. then i put on the other 2 visors find him.. then before i know it the circle spot is gone.  i'll just have to keep at it.

2 weeks. I kid you not, it took me 2 flippin weeks to get that boost right. One day I just sat down and did it then proceeded to fall off and spent another 2 hours boosting before I got up and around. Here is something I was doing wrong, dont use the controll stick, simply use the boost ball. Im swinging the stick back and forth and just gumming up the works. Keep at it, the game really opens up with those space jump boots.

Soco,

The first form is easy, stand still and fire him up until he gets ready to fire, then double jump from side to side and he should hardly hit you.  The slow moving bubbles can be destroyed with a charged shot or alot of single shots, don't ignore them they hurt and if you destroy them they leave energy for you. I like to use charged shots on all the weapons except the standard one because it fires so fast and while your charging your shot you will draw in any energy floating around as long as it's close enough, move closer if you have to, as you know you need all the energy you can get.  The ice attack is tough because once he gets you with it he keeps it comin. Break free and move fast. You can double jump and avoid most damage, just watch him and you can tell when he's going to fire, make your first jump before he does and your second jump should put you out of harm. Remember to charge while your jumping and let him have it when you land.

Hey, I got a problem too... There is a missle tank in Fenendria Drifts in the gravity chanber where I got the gravity suit. It's behind ice that I can't melt or break on the ceiling. And yes, I have tried looking online at walkthroughs, and they only tell me to shoot stalagtites, which will cause this chain reaction or something like that. But I can't find the stalagtites! Thanx!

I don't know if im in the same room as you, if thats the one where there is a missile expansion under the frozen water, you need the grapple beam to swing up to a platform and use a missile to knock down a stalactite down through the ice.  I may be in the wrong room.  If thats not the answer try using the plasma beam.

In the Gravity Chamber get out of the water near the missile expansion and look up. There is ice on the ceiling. Hit it with the plasma beam and it will break, leaving a grapple point behind. Use it to swing up to the ledge for the expansion.

He has two phazon areas to destroy. Two on his shoulder and two on his knee. Super missiles work good to take these out. When he is not shooting he can absorb all you attacks, so wait for the right moment to strike. After all four are destroyed he will dissapear. Some space pirates will come out. Destroy them quickly then switch to the x-ray visor. You will see the omega pirate in one of the pools of phazon. Shoot him fast with a super missile, the another. He will dissapear and reapear in another pool. Shoot him again with super missiles. When the screen goes all white switch back to normal visor and repeat the process.

In normal 4 super missile shots in his vulnerable form will defeat him.
On hard it took me 6 super missile shots, 1 charge shot and 1 single missile.

Good luck.  He is the hardest boss in the game imo.

Yea the Omega Pirate was quite a doozy, First of all i recomend using the Plasma Beam (FIRE) and hitting him in the legs and the arms once you destroy both of his arms and legs he is going to have to regenerate so he is going to dissapear. First of all wait and kill the little pirates he sends down on you and then once you beat them turn on your X-ray vision visor. and look for the Omega Pirate. He is going to be in one of those Phazon radiation thingies recharging. Then just use the Wave Beam (The electric wave) and Charge it up and then let him have one of those atacks that combines the missles and the beam using "Y". after you hurt him a bit he is going to regenerate his arms and legs so then your going to have to repeat the process. Just stick with it and you'll get him. It took me a while, after that you'll get the Radiation suit and you won't get hurt from the Phazon radiation...

They dont dissapear unless you collect them, so if they are gone you have them. On the menu screen one of the categories is artifacts, it will show which ones you have and show the clues for the ones you need.

To get the clues for the ones you need go to the area where the chozo statues are. Go back to your ship and it is facing in the direction of the door you want.
