Tantalus Announces 3 For E3

Tantalus Interactive today announced two new Game Boy Advance titles, taking to three the number of GBA releases to make their debut at this year’s E3. Along with the original, in-house release Trick Star, Tantalus is delighted to confirm its continuing relationship with THQ and the release of an additional two GBA titles. Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies will see a summer release, while The Polar Express will hit the shelves around November 2004, to coincide with the highly anticipated feature film of the same name.

Based on the popular illustrated book and forthcoming film, The Polar Express for Game Boy Advance allows players to experience the Christmas-themed journey of wonder and discovery first-hand. A blend of gameplay styles takes the player through the events of the story, including an array of visually stunning 3D levels recreating the action sequences that punctuate the film. A step above previous GBA platformer releases from Tantalus, playable levels of The Polar Express will be on display at the THQ booth at E3.

Gamers are already familiar with THQ’s acclaimed Jimmy Neutron series of titles, based on the immensely popular Nickelodeon franchise. Tantalus makes its first contribution to the series with Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies on Game Boy Advance. The title features 25 levels across 12 worlds, and boasts a revolutionary invention system that allows players to collect and combine everyday objects to create over a dozen contraptions. A huge selection of opponents and a wide variety of gameplay styles will ensure that this latest Jimmy Neutron release sparks plenty of interest when it premieres at the THQ booth this E3.

Tantalus CEO Tom Crago was keen to emphasize the significance of the relationship with THQ. “Here we are working with the world’s number one third-party handheld publisher, on two of their biggest franchises. The fact that we can work directly with THQ’s Australian office is another plus.” As for the games themselves, “we think they’ll be very well received. Stop by the THQ booth and take a look. I’m confident they’ll be among the most impressive platformers at the show.”
