The Prince is back and better than ever!

The Prince of Persia Returns

Action-Packed Prince of Persia® 2 (Working Title) Boasts BRAND NEW Free-Form Fighting System

LONDON -May 6, 2004 - Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, today announced that the company's award-winning Montreal studio is currently developing Prince of Persia® 2 (working title), a follow-up to the most critically acclaimed game of 2003, Prince of Persia The Sands of TimeTM.

The Prince has to embark upon a path of both carnage and mystery to defy his preordained death. His journey leads to the infernal core of a cursed island stronghold harboring mankind's greatest fears.

Only through grim resolve, bitter defiance and the mastery of deadly new combat arts can the Prince rise to a new level of warriorship - and emerge from this ultimate trial with his life.

In order to accomplish his mission, the Prince benefits from a brand new free-form fighting system that allows gamers to channel his anger as they wage battle without boundaries. Each game fan will find his or her own unique fighting style as they manipulate their environment and control the Ravages of Time. You can dig into an arsenal of weapons that, when used in combination, create advanced arm attacks that verge on fatal artistry! Prince of Persia® 2 promises that game fans will fight harder, and play longer, emerging from the experience as deadly-capable skilled masters of their own unique combat art form.

"Prince of Persia The Sands of TimeTM was the most critically acclaimed game of 2003," said Yves Guillemot, President and CEO of Ubisoft, "With Prince of Persia® 2, we intend to build on that masterpiece that will take Prince of Persia® one step further to take over the action-combat genre. We will offer you an even higher level of excellence that should once more convince the critics and the public."

Yeah, its like how nobody knows about the old Metal Gear games in the 80s.

But the game looks pretty sweet. I've always really want to see a action/adventure game with an actually revolutionary combat system. As in more moves then horizontal and vertical slashs and jump attacks. This may be it. Wind Waker added the sweet parry attacks but I wanna see more new combat moves then that.

I actually imported the first Persia and was REALLY dissapointed.

It wasnt all that. Its a good game n all but not worthy of its GOTY nominations. I found the battle system too simple and the reliance on the attack button annoying. After playing games like DMC and Mark of Kri I dont get impressed by combat systems anymore.

I hope that they re-do the graphics engine ( I found the gfx over rated ) and the sound. The sound was the worst aspect in POP SOT. I can never bloddy hear what they're saying. I changed the sound customisation but still I couldnt hear what was going on. I know Ubi Soft were trying to get us ( the players ) to reliase that there is a sense of distance from the Lady and our prince but maybe they exaggerated it all a bit.

I also want the our little lady friend to piss off. She cant even defend herself properly.

EDIT *** 1 000 POST. YAYAYAYAYAYYYY.

... um, don't use "first PoP" when referring to Sands of Time. I thought you got the original (2d) game and complained about that... It wasn't really combat centric, AFAIK.

Meh. I'll care about this game if they actually add some damn replay value this time.

I don't understand how IGN can tear Double Dash to shreds for not having enough replay value (Kart skins), yet give Game of the Year to a game that has none.

Yeah.  Not only was the voice acting bad, but the voices where low in volume and I had trouble picking up what they were saying.

I really hope Ubisoft add subtitles to next game.  C'mon, is it really hard to add subtitles?
