i recently found out i'm going to be losing aol instant messenger on my computer at work. however, i'll get to keep msn messenger because i actually use it for work-related purposes.
is there any way to (via add-on, etc) load your aim contact list into msn messenger?
i know there are programs that will let you combine contacts lists for aim, msn messenger, yahoo messenger, icq, etc, but i won't be allowed to load any of these programs onto my computer.
can anyone offer any help, or am i actually going to have to start working while at work?

I remember, a long LONG time ago, msn was designed to be able to hop onto the AIM network and use the contact lists, but the AOL crew kept bumping all the users off, and MS hilariously patched a work around every day for a week. It was great. Maybe there's an old version out there somewhere...
but otherwise, I think you're out of luck.

well, if you could convince them to let you use trillian that lets you use icq, aim, msn, irc, icq, lol, omg, wtf and other such instant messanger type programs all from the one program, personally i don't like it, but it could help you.

Yep,
Trillian
is useful for keeping contacts from icq, aim, msn, irc, etc all in one program.
I use it.

unfortunately, i won't be able to use trillian. apparently icq represents a security threat in my bosses' eyes.

It's an online AIM list... no installation needed.

it might be because i use opera at work. i just checked, and it's not listed as a supported browser. lucky (?) for me, once i lose my aim, i lose my opera. so i'll be forced to use ie. yea for me.
