Problems hooking up Gamecube component cable
« on: April 29, 2004, 01:50:41 PM »
I hooked up the component cable through my receiver, so now i only get video.  So how do i hook up the audio?  I know i have to use the av cables and just plug in the audio part, but my question is when i use a receiver where do i plug in the audio wires, because i want to get the audio through my speakers, not just my TV.  anyone here hook up the component cable using a receiver.  I have a denon 4802.  i have no problem with my xbox sinse i use the optical, but sinse nintendo hasnt released an optical wire theres my problem

well i can guess a few problems,
1) you've got the reciever set on 'digital' which won't let you hear any audio because the gamecube uses analogue sound
2) try plugging the a/v cables into 'VCR 2' or 'AUX' something like that.

anyway try those if they don't work then err.. i'm sure someone will work it out.
OUT OF DATE.

on the denon 4802 receiver it only gives you 3 component INs,  ones DVD, ones Sat, and ones TV.  so if i hook the component cable to one of those it is impossible to hook up the audio wires to vcr 2 or something else cause you can only set the receiver on 1 setting at a time.  can anyone else help me?

You might want to try hooking the audio wires to the coresponding audio jacks. if you have the component hooked up through SAT then hook the audio cables into the other jacks lable SAT.
