I saw a USB memory card that can transfer saves, but I haven't found a single place that sells it. Is there anything else? My recent ass-kickage of the F-Zero GP mode has made me rather anxious to back up my files. And Sega (stupidly) made it impossible to copy the F-Zero file to another card from the GC setup menu.  For a game this difficult, that's just mean.

I'm having trouble seeing why you can't copy the file from one card to another, provided that both cards are in both slots and the destination card has enough space.

For transferring save files to a PC via USB, you can use the GameSaves Memory Card Manager.  It's $19.99

F-Zero GX is a "protected" game save. Like Animal Crossing.

You can "move" it to another card, but you can't make a "copy" of it (unless you're using something that doesn't respect Nintendo's rules on that).

They do it because there's ultra-rare stuff available in the games, which can be traded. If you spend all your game-money on some super-rare item, they don't want you to copy your saved game, trade all the good stuff to one card, and delete the useless save. Then copy your save over again, trade twice as much stuff, and delete the useless save again.
Poor people should eat wheat!
I'm about to go punk up some 3rd parties so they don't release games on other hardware, ciao!

Pokemon Colluseum is another "protected" file save. I can both appreciate the protected files to prevent cheating and at the same time hate them for not being able to make a backup copy... which is something I'm always paranoid about (clutches his backup 251)

I hate Sega for making it impossible to MOVE PSO saves.

Yes.  The Gamesaves device is actually a really good deal.  Not only does it allow you to transfer saves back and forth with your PC, but for $20 you also get a 64M memory card.

Looks interesting. Thanks for the link. Oh, is it possible to link regular memory cards to the cable, and not just their 64MB one?

Hmm, totally missed this piece of hardware.  Sounds quite interesting...  Are you able to back up AC saves?
