Favorite Game Discussions!

Here it is people! The un OFFICIAL page for discussing your favorite GCN game! Just say what it is and why!

For me...my all time favorite thus far has to be...um...hold on...I can do this....

AH. The original Sims. I would say Bustin' Out ... but I can't get the codes to work.

I like the originality of the game...I meen, it's a game based on LIFE and it's one of the hardest games I've played. It's really complicated trying to get promoted. It's really hard getting those promotions that require family friends...expecially when sims gain and lose friends as often as they do.

This looks like it will turn into a poll, but I'll let it go on for now as long as people explain why they like their favorite games and we have some real discussion.

Super Smash Bros. Melee. There really is no contest in those regards. SSBM and Time Splitters 2 have been the only two titles which I play constantly sense buying them quite some time ago.  Its the best party game for the GCN, but the amount of options that the player can toggle with give it a lot of replay value for those times when you just want to mess around with the game by yourself. Gotta love the diverse cast of characters, and the nostalgia never really wears out for me.

Viewtiful Joe manages to create a feeling of coolness only 2d games can. Since error feedback is immediate the game isn't frustrating, unlike racing or fighting games.
Sorry, can't get more objective, so I guess this'll go polly soon enough... Um... actually it already is...

Ikaruga is probably still my favorite GC game, because it's hard and top down shooters are awesome. It's probably also really cheap now.

My favourite GCN game would have to be Pikmin. It's genious! From the moment i first played it i was hooked. It's unlike any other game i've ever played, and it pretty much came out of nowhere. It's a breathe of fresh air to the usual adventure/shooting/.... *everyone falls asleep*... I still find myself playing Pikmin every week or so, just to get a slightly higher score in challenge mode, or trying to clear the main mode with better results. I love Pikmin.

Honourable mentions to Super Smash Bros Melee, Viewtiful Joe, F-Zero GX... and heaps of other games that i can't be bothered typing out, but they rock!

i'll throw my vote towards halo. oh shi wate. actually i'll second ty's vote on Ikaruga because top-down shooters are indeed cool, and need more love. but no-one gives them a chance anymore, 3d is for chumps >=o

in short old dreamcast games are better than the entire cube library, oooh potshot feel da burrrrrn

As the biggest Zelda fan on this side of the Pacific, it's probably safe to assume that I choose Wind Waker...But the game deserves respect in every account...It's the first game in a very long time to make me think, "Hey, maybe 3d doesn't have to turn out so bad after-all."  It's the first game to draw me in to the point where I hadn't heard the phone ringing right next to me.  Interesting characters, memorable BGM, and constantly fun Zelda exploration will have me buy another GC soon so that I'll be able to pull it out in my later years...

I'll be omg 1337 and cast my vote for Zelda: Wind Walker, Jeff. I got mega jollies for this game the week leading up to its launch. I actually bothered to stand outside EB at 11:30 PM waiting for the midnight launch so I could get some cold pizza and some 'olol have fun' yells from 'tards as I got my copy.

Plus like, yeah. The game is freakin' wonderful. It's like a magical adventue in magical adventure land. I was even amused by the day to night bowel movements the game featured when you were out at sea.

RUNNERS DOWN INCLUD-YU-GI-OH; Sonic Mega Collection, Smash Bros. Melee, 1080, er, other games.
The survivors have spoken, Dark Summit, you're out of here. *MUSIC*

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is my favourite game! It's a massive adventure in which there is never a dull moment. I was entertained by the whole entire content of the game! It's presented beautifully, the graphics are perfect, the music/sound, and the gameplay is addictive. This game is original and innovative while staying in touch with the Zelda series I LOVE dearly!
This game is a ture Nintendo classic, and a ture masterpiece. I've played through the game 8 or 9 times now!!!!

Other games that are close, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (what a great game!!), Animal Crossing (Because it didn't leave my GCN for months, soooo addictive!!) and Metroid Prime.

Wow, they are all Nintendo made games, which isn't suprising, Nintendo ARE THE GREATEST!! (Fanboy - I am not)

Big fan of Resident Evil too!!!

Well, if nobody can figure out what my favourite game (or saga if you wish to call it) is, then they ought to be whacked over the head with an ugly stick. It should be pretty obvious by now, as it is the only game topic that I post in.

Just look at my sig and you'll probablly know what it is. (And if your thinking it is the last paragraph... then your mind is very disturbed)

Anyway... if none of you know... it is indeed, the Resident Evil saga, with Code Veronica X and REmake being my favourites. It'd be pretty obvious to understand why I'm so interested into the series. Survival Horror has always been my forte' in gaming.
The first ever Resident Evil game I played was the REmake, which suddenly caught my attention on it's intense scares, intriguing storyline and enjoyable action.
Code Veronica X was my latest RE game to receive, and it's intense storyline and confusing villains seem to of added to the fun of it.

I'm awaiting the next installment into the series which I will be likely to be importing over from Japan as well as America. Waisting money or not, I wan't this game badly... and will do anything to get it.
There is only one thing in the world that can satisfy my envy for Resident Evil 4.... and that'd probablly be Resident Evil 5.

My favorite game on the GC has to be Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.  Wind Waker comes close and Beyond Good & Evil gets an honorable mention, but this game was sweet.  'Nuf said.  Yes it was a short game that gets shorter every times you play through it, but that is not relevant.  What does matter is excellent graphics, superb gameplay, and a deep story.  You can say all you want about how many of these concepts were not new, but I most certainly think that this game perfected them.
I've gotta say what I've gotta say, and then I swear I'll go away, but I can't promise you'll enjoy the noise.

metroid prime for me- hands down one of the best games to come out in recent years and one of my favorites ever- i love wind waker- its art style, gameplay, story- but everyone knew that it would turn out great- not the case with prime- with all the problems retro had during their developement of the game, who knew how the game could have turned out- i had faith they would do the metroid series justice and that is just what they did- it felt like i was playing super metroid in 3d- i can say with out a doubt that this is the best game of this generation of consoles, in my opinion-and i love metroid!!!
i call the big one bitey.

Wow...I had a GrAyLaN posse there for a minute. I love to hear who has what favorite game...and I have to say...all these choices are on my good side ('scept for that Japanese shooter...haven't played it yet). Keep on posting...and use my name to your own free will...as an insult if you may! Go GrAyLaN yourself...oh wait...that's not cool...
