F-Zero: GP Legend Announced for Europe
« on: April 01, 2004, 10:37:48 PM »
The next F-Zero GBA title is coming to Europe on the 4th June.

SPEED IS ADDICTIVE...

F-Zero: GP Legend launches on Game Boy Advance

Strap yourselves in and get ready for even more high-speed futuristic racing action for the Game Boy Advance. Captain Falcon and friends make their eagerly awaited return to the racing tracks for the handheld console on 4th June 2004.

The F-Zero games have achieved legendary status amongst the ranks of video game racing fans all over the world. If you’ve got the reflexes of a cobra and the hand eye coordination of a jet fighter pilot, then F-Zero: GP Legend could be just what you’ve been waiting for.

New to the Game Boy Advance comes an advanced story mode for F-Zero: GP Legend. Players begin the game as a character called Rick Wheeler. As players progress through the Story Mode for Rick, they can unlock new characters – including F-Zero favourite Captain Falcon, Samurai Goroh and the mysterious Black Shadow. Each story is accompanied by in depth cut scenes and dialogue that is unique to the perspective of each character. There are eight characters to unlock in total and 40 missions to complete in the Story Mode.

The game also includes a number of other additional challenging racing modes. The Grand Prix mode has three different skill levels and three cups in each to win while The Zero Test mode requires players to master all manner of racing techniques to progress through 48 challenges. For the die hard racers there’s the Time Attack mode and a Training mode, in which players can perfect racing skills and shave off vital seconds to their lap times.

F-Zero: GP Legend is a single or multiplayer racing game for up to four players using a single game pak and four Game Boy Advances linked together. If each player has a copy of the game, then even more tracks and vehicles will become available to race.

Don’t fall asleep at the wheel, F-Zero: GP Legend launches across Europe on 4th June 2004 for around 40 Euros.

It was listed as F-Zero 2 for some time already. Well, good to have the official title.

An "advanced story mode" with a guy named Rick Wheeler? Sounds dodgy.

Well, they couldn't give you someone like Falcon right away or it'd make no sense to start at the bottom.

I'm just afraid this one's going to be some sucky spin-off.  It came out in Japan with little fanfare, and in fact, our importer couldn't even get ahold of copies.  Sounds a bit sketchy to me.

From what I understood this is just another FZero game for the GBA, this time the new feature is a story mode. What suggests it's bad or a spinoff?
