Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee 2

It appears, according to Atari, that the sequel to the 2002 GCN/XBOX game Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee 2 is being made, and will likely appear at E3. No word yet on a system, keeping fingers crossed for Gamecube which seems more likely than Xbox due to sales.

Atari just made a lot of Godzilla fans very happy though, lets hope they improve on the formula and correct some of the mistakes the first game made. Even if the formula is about the same, with just an improved roster, I'll still likely pick this baby up if it hits the cube.

Wellity wellity, I picked up the original at a super reduced price not that long ago, and quite enjoyed it with friends. Single player is waaaaay too boring, though. CPU smells of cheese as they keep doing the same one move over and over and over until you walk away to do something better like eat a Game Boy.

More detailed destruction would be cool, too. Like erm, footprints in the ground, and .. stuff. =o

Enjoy this game I did not. The first I mean. I'll definitely rent this  before I buy.

The game will appear for every system BUT the Gamecube...  Ok, PS2, thats great, more people to be exposed to Godzilla from the large userbase. But the Xbox again? I have one question... why? It just doesn't make sense, the Xbox port sold well below the GCN version, below Atari's expectations as well, and appears to continue to sell worse than the GCN version.  Plus, Atari had the sales figures for both by the time they started planning a sequel.

So what does Atari do? That's right, they drop GCN support in favor of Xbox support.  You can't sell the Xbox version in Japan either, they choose to withhold the Xbox version of G: DAMM there, a lot of good that's going to do you Atari seeing as how its Godzilla's 50th birthday this year along with the last Godzilla film to be released in atleast a decade.

I'm convinced Atari's business decisions are made by a group of chimps and a dart board... Anyway, this topic is in the wrong forum now.

Why the hell is the game NOT on the Gamecube? First Atari gives us half assed late ports and then cancel support because of poor sales, and yet when they actually give the GAMECUBE the original game, and give the XBOX the half assed late port, and Gamecube sales trounce XBox sales, they drop the GAMECUBE'S support rather than the XBOX'S. Who the hell is running Atari? Fox?

Why the hell is a game that's pretty much meant for four player battles being put on PS2 instead of GC? I guess Atari Australia's demented hatred of Nintendo is infecting the rest of Atari now..

i'm pretty sure i remember atari saying they were dropping ALL gamecube support quite a few months back. obviously they were serious.

Actually, Atari gave Gamecube the worse of the two versions, they even removed content (the bots) from the Gamecube version and it STILL trounced the Xbox version.

I don't think so, as Enter the Matrix 2 and the next Terminator game from them are both hitting the Cube... They are, however, trying to show themselves as being one of the biggest supporters for the PSP (let them, I have yet to see a good hand held game from them).

Everything seems to point to a grudge against Nintendo, or something. When you have a 4 player game which didn't sell well on the Xbox, and then you go ahead and release it for every system but the Cube... I'm just baffled...

Weeeelll, the Xbox did get Godzilla: DAMM over a year later than the GameCube. There had to be 'some' added features for all three people awaiting it on Xbox.

Email Atari then, they have a quick response actually... im pretty miffed about it too since i bought the first DAMM when it came out
