Well, once I was writing a design document with me mate, and part of the front page read: "an MMOPRG". My friend and I had a huge argument over where 'an' should be placed. In front of the 'M' (as it is prounced 'em') was fine with with me, but we got sidetracked and he bought up the phrase 'an hour'. Because the 'h' in 'hour' is a vowel sound, I'll use 'an' with it; but I refuse to use 'an' in front of any word that begins with a more emphasised 'h' (such as 'Hotmail'.) Do you guys in America/Eurpoe say 'an hour'? It's used universally here, I always wondered if that was just the accent.
Not that any of that was relevant here, it's just become a habit of correcting my friend's unholy, deluded ways ^_^
P.S. My accent is so strong people from
Auckland (that's a city up North here) tease me about it. I can barley speak English sometimes, but it's awsome anyway
