If it was an anime movie sure, but a real life movie, no.

This isn't about a GameCube game. It's being moved.

It would be better if they used cg or anime.  I don't mind real-actors at times to do the job but a lot of times it just isn't good.  I don't know why but if the movie did not have the SC name it would probably be better.

Heihachi is probably a better candidate for a cameo.  They're both Namco's and Namco can decide if they are in the same universe.  Link can probably fit but it doesn't seem right and Spawn well Medieval Spawn is better but I prefer Spawn to be on his own.

If the movie focus' on story and not fighting, persay, then the movie may be successful.  But if the people making the movie only want to oversaturate the movie with every Soul Calibur character then the movie will not be good.  Soul Calibur's story could make a nice transition to the silver screen, but we don't need another movie like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat Annihilation where the goal seemed to have been to get as many characters from the game in the movie as possible.

If this would only turn out to be a high-quality mini series like how Band of Brothers was produced, then things might look brighter.

That is kinda what I had in mind, the movie should have a story that follows one or maybe two at the most, characters, then the movie wouldn't be too broad and confusing.

Yeah, odds are, this will suck. I wish they wouldn't do this. I mean come on, a fighting arcade game makes a good game and that's it. RPGs have movieish plots. Silicon Knights' games have movie plots. Fighting games are the action movies of video games. No (good) plot required. Of course, the same goes for platformers, racers, puzzles, and action games as well. ^_^

all you need is someone who respects the source material and they can write a script that not only lives up to the game, but also make a movie that is not just a video game movie character explosion fest.  The first Mortal Kombat movie was decent because had a decent story to compliment the games.  The second one was crap.

If they reduce it to a few characters, it might work, but you'd have fanboys all over the place screaming "Why wasn't XY included in the movie???". They could try to not use ANY of the characters and make up their own, but that'd cause even more of an outrage.
