I just rang up EB and asked them to switch my MGS pre-order over to Harvest Moon. Atari's ruined my lust for MGS. *HITLER EMOTICON*

Apparently Harvest Moon comes in tomorrow, and the dude confirmed the big lack of copies thing, Ubisoft are only going to send out enough to cover pre-orders + 1 or 2 left over. =/

the show is back up again, though!
They rang me up on monday and said the show is back on air!
Me and my cousin got to the studio an hour late, so we're not hosting it this week =(
Oh well

And by 'the usual drill', i mean i post photos of my posing with the game, like I did with Wind Waker when I got it a day early.
Sorry to brag and all. It's just me

Yeah, I got told the 4th as well today (which is a Sunday? Go figure).
But I am within easy distance of three EBs so I should be able to find one.

As for Mario Golf, I have seen it at EB. No-one else seems to believe me. ITS OUT! REALLY!

I got it ...its seems to be released because both Game Rush and EB have it in.

My impressions so far -

The game is very much like the original with improved gfx. The gfx are awsome although the textures need some work and the frame rate in cut scenes jump a little.

The controls are ... HORRIBLE. It doesnt feel like MGS. I died like 10 times trying to crawl into a vent. The button layout is scattered all over the controller and takes quite a bit to get used to. The First person view is also a pain in the ass. I am slowly getting used to it. When shooting in FPS view I always take off my gun. Because I try to side step around by using the L and R buttons and I forget to take my hand off R ...and my gun gets put away.

I will update later.

Is this game a disspointment ? ....HELL NO. Do I love it ? Yes. From what I have played does it keep up with the original? Yes. Does it surpass it ? No

How can it 'not' surpass the original? That's stupid.

You'll get used to the controls.

TIME TO GET ME SOME MGSNESS! CIAO!

EDIT: Zing! Success! It took me two EBs and a lot of walking, but I got my hands on one.

O.K - Dont forget my original post was after a 2 hour play. Now I have played it a little longer ...here are my impressions.

The controls are infact not as bad as I made them out to be. The main problem with them is as most reviewers say. There is no in-between from walking and Running.

The GFX are what you would expect. The frame rate is really fluid for the most part. Except for in cut scenes where it is a little jumpy ( mostly at the start of the game ).

The cut scenes are a mixed bag. Some are Awsome really dragging you in while others make the gameplay look stale [ You will know what I mean before boss fight #3 ].

Right know I am around 1/3 or so through disk 2 and am having the time of my life.

P.S- One other problem is the MGS2 mechanics arent really used except for the FPS.

I will update more on the game later.

I grabbed the last (and probably the first) copy of Twin Snakes from EB this morning, it was $110, of course, but that's fine with me.

My impressions of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes so far:

Brilliant. It's good old Metal Gear Solid, coated with awesome (yes, awesome) graphics. I love it. I love the new controls. I love the updated cinematics and graphics. I love the classic gameplay. I have found no faults. One of the best games on GCN. It's been a long wait, thanks to Atari, but now i have it, and it was worth the wait. Now excuse me while i go back to playing it.

I raelly have to disagree with you on the issue of the FMVs though Mario.

While they are REALLY well done and acted out VERY well, the quality just sucks. It's jumpy (even some in-game graphics ones), especially the FMVs and those real-life footage ones.
It's not something to mark the game down on in terms of presentation, but more a technical fault.

It's definitely something Nintendo needs to work on for their next console.

Agreed.

I finished the game and am gonna go through and get all the dog tags.

Mario is right I got used to the controls and I love the game. But the FMVs are the worst I have EVER seen. Some made me scream ''THIS IF F******N METAL GEAR NOT MATRIX OR DRAGON BALL'' !!!.

In some you see Snake dodging bullets, flipping, jumping etc. Then when the game gets back to you - you feel cheated. Why cant I do a Cart-wheel and dodge a Hinds Missiles ? The most stupid scene has to be when Snake throws a grenade at that sheet of metal that was about to hit him. DUMBEST THING EVER !!!

Are the cutscenes/FMV (whatever) worst than the NSTC version?  I don't remember complaints in the reviews.

Oh ya, I hate DVDCrave.  I'm the only Aussie on the planet who pre-ordered & hasn't got it yet.

Akdaman: I've just been watching Matrix: Revolutions today. Great movie. I'm still disappointed that more wire-fighting wasn't used in the sequels, but its a great mind-bending trilogy anyway.

"I know Jujitsu."
"Show me."

Erm, yeah, go MGS! It's awesome how its still in its case and plays like some game I haven't played yet because it hasn't come out of its case yet! Figure that one out d00ds!
