Nintendo Sponsors 5-Year Professorship at DigiPen Institute Of Technology

Nintendo Professorship of Video Game Technology is First of its Kind

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 2004--Nintendo and DigiPen Institute of Technology are pleased to announce that Nintendo is sponsoring a five-year professorship program at DigiPen.

The Nintendo Professorship of Video Game Technology is the first professorship of its kind offered by Nintendo in North America. Nintendo is proud to be the industry leader in supporting the academic side of the video game industry.

"Nintendo's sponsorship of a professorship at DigiPen shows its commitment to DigiPen and the industry," said Claude Comair, founder of DigiPen. "With Nintendo's generosity, we will be able to continue our ongoing efforts in expanding DigiPen's academic program to reach new heights."

"We are pleased to support DigiPen by sponsoring a professorship," said Jacqualee Story, executive vice president, business affairs of Nintendo of America Inc. "The industry is always looking for talented people who can take us to the next level, and this professorship will help strengthen DigiPen's dedication to its students and our industry."

Nintendo and DigiPen's relationship dates back to the formation of DigiPen Applied Computer Graphics School in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1993. In 1998, in cooperation with Nintendo of America, DigiPen opened its Redmond, Wash., campus, making it the first school in the world to offer bachelor degree programs for video game programming. DigiPen Institute of Technology currently offers associate and bachelor of science degrees in real-time interactive simulation, a master of science degree in computer science, a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, an associate degree in 3-D computer animation and a bachelor of fine arts degree in production animation. Whoever gets this award will have the coolest job title.  "Nintendo Professor"  At least that's the format professorships usually use; the sponsor followed by the word "Professor".

i'd rather be "professor nintendo".  i might ask ty to change my title to that.

...on second thought, nah.  i like my current title too much.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!
