Killer 7 no longer gamecube exclusive!
« on: January 30, 2004, 01:54:14 PM »
This is horrible! Killer 7 was suppose to be a Nintendo exclusive created by Capcom. This was suppose to be one of Capcoms 5 big games coming to gamecube only, but no longer. Killer 7 will also be coming out for ps2. NOOO!      Your thoughts........

Uh, who cares?  Having an exclusive is nothing more than bragging rights for fanboys...I'm just happy we are getting the game...

I AM FANBOY1111! HEAR ME CRYYYYYYY!!!11!1!

It's the fact that this game is going to no longer be exclusive is what pisses me off.
Come on! It was a freakin contract!
You have to let the Resident Evil thing on PS2 go, cause, if memory serves me right, Nintendo and Square did the exact same thing with Final Fantasy
But KIller 7 was a contracted game for GC.
If Shinji Mikami is gonna leave Capcom cause they didn't honour their contract, and comes to work at Nintendo, then fine by me.

So what was I crying about again?

Was there an actual contract? All I'd read was that it was 'planned' to be a GCN exclusive.

But it looks bad for Nintendo who I vividly remember trying to push some of Capcom's big 5 on their website.  You know this is kind of funny... when I went on Big N's website after The Fab 5 were announced they did not include Killer 7.  I emailed them about it and they basically responded to be announced even though Capcom did it publically.  I wonder if they knew...  But then again the people who answer the emails probably don't know anything.

But it's still coming to GameCube. Why all the crying? C'mon, we don't even know what this game is about, we've seen a few crappy looking Virtua Cop type screens in the past year and a bit. Anyway, a PS2 port means more money for Capcom, and that's all that really matters.

-Killer 7 for PS2 is only planned for Japanese/PAL production, not NTSC.
-The release date for that hasn't been decided.
-The PS2 port will be released at least several months after the gamecube release.

So there's really nothing to worry about (if you were worrying in the first place).

Perhaps that meant Japan AND PAL?
I bet K7 sells better in the west than in Japan, the style doesn't look like something that might sell in Japan.

I really doubt that will stay the same.

I remember this.... in the E3 issues of Nintendo power, in the featured articles, they showed screens from the games that made an appearance, and the exclusive titles had the blue triangle exclusive things at the top corner, but it was conspicuously absent from the Killer 7 screen.... so I emailed Nintendo about it, but obviously, they didn't have much to say.

So this has been planned for awhile, I assume.

These games weren't planned exclusives.  These threads were up months ago complaining about this.  This isn't a game that is going to sell GCNs, so who cares if it if totaly exclusive?

"The PS2 build is strangely only scheduled to ship in Japan and Europe, however, with no announced plans for an American release."
"Although Killer 7 for PlayStation 2 is scheduled to be released in both Europe and Japan, details on the release date have not been confirmed."   Link

Of course it might not stay that way...
