in the game elder scrolls 3: game of the year edition, when i talk to people they give me directions by using north,east,south,and west. How do I know which way is north,east,south, and west

Do not post the same message in multiple areas of the forums.  I am leaving the one in "Other Systems" open.  For future reference, the "Gameplay Help" area is understood to be used for GameCube and GBA games, though we might allow older Nintendo systems as well.  "Other Systems" is a more appropriate place to ask about a PC/Xbox game.
