But showing precisely... nothing.

The Nintendo Direct closer was one for the ages, specifically 10 and 17.

Nintendo confirmed a long rumored remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2 as the final announcement of today's Nintendo Direct. Known simply as "Ocarina of Time", it will be out in 2026 but no further details were provided.

Nine months between Directs, their "big game" is a remake of an N64 game coming out the same year as another remake of an N64 game and they effectively don't show anything?  What the hell was that?

The lack of any gameplay shown this close to release tells me this is probably, blatantly, obviously going to get delayed into 2027, whatever Nintendo says right now.

As for the game itself, Nintendo decided to remake IIRC still the top-ratest game in gaming history.

Good luck meeting those expectations!
There was a Signature here. It's gone now.

I kind of wish that the leaks were not true, though they were so prominent that it felt pretty much confirmed. I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually because I'm a sucker, but remakes in general don't have much interest from me.

I really don't like the design of Link. He looks like Hobbit crossed with a Disney character that feels uncanny to look at... Well to be fair, I also didn't like the design in the 3DS remake but that went away very fast once I started playing it.

I hope they really pack meat on the good bones that is OoT and fill every area with new side quests, MM style character stories/arcs/events, things to discover every time you visit, Malon courting to marriage side story, a Light dungeon, and fill Hyrule field with life and action. Alternatively they might go FF VII route and completely change how the story unfolds which means this is OoT - Bad End timeline. If it's the latter, I want all new dungeons and mechanics so it can stand on it's own.
