I don't know enough about hardware to design the guts of the N5 but there are a few things I would include.  Every controller would be wireless but would have a detachable cord so you can still use it without batteries.  I would also release a mouse for the console for use in sims and RTS games.  The mouse would use a different slot so it doesn't take up a controller.  Memory cards would be standard SD cards so you don't have to worry about space limitations and you can back up saves to your computer.  Backwards compatibility with the Cube would be a feature naturally.  I'm not sure about the media.  I might keep the discs physically small to prevent piracy.

Oh and the controller would look kind of like this.  It's not the best mockup in the world but it gets across the right idea.

k here are some ideas

-how about the N5 have classic games preloaded on the HDD?  
-i like the idea of charging wavebirds(be like the cell phone concept)
-how extending guitar smasher's ideas of more classic games on an online service, how about a way you could buy a dock where games are DLed to blank disks(stable state media, which ever they choose to use) Course, the problem with this of course is piracy, i know i know
-The N5 needs to be sleek and stylish, i would with more of a stackable, THIN design, rather than small and boxy
-we need added peripherals, im sorry but the "it's a game machine isn't going to work anymore as these things get cheaper, multifuntion is key, it just makes the average gamers purchase more justified
- i'd go back to Ns root colors
- im not completely enjoying the kidney buttons on the controllers as of now, i've grown to like em, but not completely
- DPAD, this IMHO was not a good year for the D pad, not just for N but for them in general, i haven't really liked sony's d pads, the broken idea makes have to look down all the time, even after all this time, and the D pad on the cube yes of course - to small.  i think that xbox got it right more than the other two, making eight way standard.  I also like the softer buttons on the PS2's controllers.


for the new GB

- needs true 3d gaming capability - not a beefed up FX chip design
- needs to have to versions
 - they could work with sharp (and are they working with panasonic, not sure) on an all emcompassing on the go device that uses powerful lithium batteries and as a second option, plug into the cigerette lighter(to help with kids, an extra long one could be purchased)
- make the headphone jack standard
more on the GB heavy version
 - stay with sp design, keeps it more young adult savvy
 - maybe make it widescreen(black bars could be used for games that can't support it), but still skinny enought to fit in the front pocket
- comeone, we need at least six buttons and then a start select for a total of eight)
- it keep with a eight way dpad, or two have like a touchpad from the laptops
- some how, maybe have dvd capabilities, and play cds(i think the anti shock is good enough now - i have one where i can litterally jump up and down and stomp the floor and NO SKIPPING) and a radio
- and a slot for the old GB games, giving it the extra edge it would need.
- light version - just games

on the corporate level

- more adult advertising, more teenage girls and boys(and on the girl part, im not talking about raunchy teen half porn, but girl gamers with the guy gamers or something of the sort)
- advertising needs to be fierce
- more money on design and events that young adults show up at, not these giant speggetti bowls(this is a kids fantasy, well the weird kids one)
- online pushed
- RIGHT NOW is the time to bow down to 3rd party developers requests


and on another note, i would run the company into the ground cuz just like the rest of us, i don't really know how gaming corp.s end up with a profit and how it all works lol
