How the heck do I get 250,000+ pts?? Am I missing some hidden area where I can do a bajillion jumps or something? This most I can muster is 180-190K points .

nevermind, got it .  I just had to do lots of tricks, esp at the halfpipe area.

extra tip for the halfpip freestyle comps:
ramp up to the level 2 uber trick level and hold ONE uber trick in the air.  If you hold it for ~5+ seconds you get 4000+ style points in addition to the 15-28K from holding the uber trick.
