E3 2003 Floor Space?
« on: February 01, 2003, 11:52:07 PM »
I just searched through the maze of a website that the E3 website is, and I can't find any info on how much floor space each developer has this year.  IIRC, Nintendo had the most last year, and I am curious if it's the same this year.  Does anyone have any maps of the LA Convention Center for this year yet, or is it too early?

Nintendo and Microsoft seem to have a lot of space this year.

Hmmm.... I guess they would need a lot of space to fit their consoles.    Remember how much they had last year though?  (they had about 1/4 as much as Sony...  )

BULL.  Everyt year, Nintendo has had the exact same space, in the exact same location.  What you seem to be mistaking for "two levels" is the fact that the second level of that area is just open air surrounded by offices, so techincally, Nintendo's booth extends up to that level.  But no one else sees it that way.  By that reckoning, every one in both South and West halls would have "two levels" of space.

But Rick, Matt is so matter-of-fact when he says it.  You can't argue with that.  ;-)

According to the E3 website they have two levels, but as Rick explained, the 2nd level is offices.

Yeah, level 2 for Nintendo is offices for whatever (I dunno). Last year though, Sony did have a second floor in part of their booth with games on it. About 35% - 50% of their booth was covered with a second floor that had more games on it. So, technically, they had the most game space.

Nintendo's booth was 1/4th the size of $ony's booth? I don't think so.  One this is certain however, $ony's booth had 1/4th the amount of people that the Nintendo booth did.  I spent about five minutes in $ony's booth last year.  Once I saw how horrible the "getaway" was, I ran away and threw up.

Also i just got back from the convention center floor and it appears that Nintendo's floor plan is quite different from last year.  It seems that although they are in the same location, their booth seems larger, or maybe its just that the new design makes it appear larger.  Either way, I am totally excited about this years show!

Oh and before I forget, if you attend the $ony booth, bring a barf bag
