I think you're missing critical thinking skills...or is that reading comprehension?

BTW, it's dyslexic.

i think someone beat metroid prime in an hour and 36 minutes and 7 seconds, with a 100% rating.  Wonder how that guy accomplished that!  Dang!

Wow... That was new to me and I think it was pretty amazing! Did he use a cheat code to skip a lot of the levels or something? I couldn't believe his skills on those Cannon Balls!

He didn't use any cheat codes to skip levels.  He used the warp whistles he got from levels 3 and the fortress in World 1.

more impressive is seeing people get high scores in games
like the relatively recent donkey kong high score world record,
i believe beating an easy game fast takes talent but achieving the highest score at
a hard game takes genius.  and alot more effort and time
.

i'd like to disagree, joeamis.

getting a high score at a hard game such as donkey kong is based on repetition.  many of those classic arcade games had limited ai.  because of that, memorizing a simple pattern was often enough to get though an entire game with a high score.  (pac-man comes to mind.)  thus, it becomes an exercise in remembering what to do and when, instead of reacting to the game.

also, i hear that the guy who beat smb3 in 11 minutes cheated.  he used an emulator to slow down the game, and he would save repeatedly and load the game if he messed up.  then he went back an edited the video.

i actually noticed what i thought to be a glitch in the video in one of the tank levels (i can't remember which one) where it looked like mario got hit by a cannon ball, then magically warped above it and jumped on it.  i passed it off as being a problem with the direct feed.  looks like it might have been a case of creative editing.

I think I know the part you are talking about.  The thing is though, if you look at the points when he lands on another cannonball/enemy/whatever, the points is doubled that of the last one.  That can't happen if he touches the ground, and he wouldn't be able to get 1-Ups the way he did.

i read that the guy constantly saves the game.  so if he missed a jump, he could load back up from where he messed up and continue as normal.  as long as he edited it correctly, no one would be the wiser.

Hm.... I would think that if he saves snapshots, then the message "Snapshot Saved" would show up on the screen.  Perhaps there's a way to make the messages not show up on screen?

He didnt use any bugs in the game. If he really did cheat it was by using an emulater and screwing with the speed and saving all the time or something like that. If he didn't cheat with the emulaer then it was all by skill not a bug in SMB3.

Ooh, ok, I saw that a long time ago and I was told it was beat by using glitches/bugs.  My bad sorry, thanks for clearing that up.
