Dead or a Movie
« on: November 03, 2003, 01:20:05 PM »

Dead or Alive is apparently being made into a movie. Wonder where THAT'S gonna go.
Girls gone wild! That one beer commercial where the women tear each other's clothes off! Based off teh kewlest gaem evah!!!

This will rival the DOA bikinis in stupidity and pointlessness.

here's the unfortunate news

Martial arts and hot babes could make for a cool movie in theory.  But in reality it will probably suck like most films that rely on T&A to sell.  I have never seen any movie ever where boobs are a key part of the marketing that turned out to be a good film.  It just doesn't happen.

And if they aren't going to exploit the T&A then it's kind of a waste of time to use the licence.

T&A....T&A...Tar and autorcrats? Tape and aluminum? Ti—OHH!!! That one took me a while. Yeah, it makes me wonder WHY they'd make a movie like that. They KNOW it won't sell well. They either just want to use the lisence to publicize the game or like you said just show some T&A.

I'd hit it. The movie that is. When it's avaliable to rent. For $1 a week. With a stick. Maybe.
But I don't really see a live action movie working. Maybe anime. Forget any plot, too. Aw hell Tecmo, just release a hentai movie or something.

It would be better if it were an animated feature starring the mumbling, slurred voice of Dennis Rodman

screw all of you!
Natalie and Kiera can do anything better than Tina or Kasumi, though their boobs don't bounce as much ;____;

A DOA movie is going to be unfortunate. If they are thinking that movie version of those liittle back stories in fighting games (you know, when a character is trying to save a forest and decides to beat the other players in order to save it) is going to make it a good movie, then they are seriosuly going to run around like headless chickens when they realise where the hell they went wrong when only 200 dollars of the original 100 billion dollar budget is returned (bouncing boobs will be quite a feat for the CG animation house).
the Mortal Kombat did a half asses job with its 'story' to try and have a reason for fighting each other; MK Annihilation was just sh*t.

A GTA movie would just be another gansta/mafia film with mindless action and violence. Driver will just be a clone of 'The Transporter' (and they're making a second one too).
Resident Evil Apocalypse is actually turning out OK.

I'm generally opposed to movie adaptations to games. I REALLY don't want a Metroid movie. They is gonna screw THAT one up BIG TIME. ED could be good if it's done right. I doubt it will be though. Unless Stephen King directs. And SK supervises. Then it'd be good.

I heard it was delayed indefinitely. As for ED, I haven't heard so much as a whisper of it. There were rumors that it would be made for TV which spells instantaneous failure. In Greek.

I disagree...I think a TV series would be better suited for ED's chapter storyline.  Each chapter could be broken down into 2 or 3 episodes a piece...Something that would be incredibly hard to do in a 2 hour flick...

(this is really weird but wehenI type the text is invisible so I have no idea what I am typing)

I suppose you are right. It would be hard to cram all that in 2 or even 3 hours. I suppose they could make it more than  one movie like a trilogy or something but  that's a huge financial risk.

EDIT:I didn't change any of my mistakes. Not bad for someone who couldn't see what he was doing, eh? A toast to my crappy pooter which I will no longer have to use come this Friday.

Problem with ED going TV is that it'll be low budget. And just seem like some cheesy horror show.

Resident Evil was the first game -> movie film i have seen that i liked (and didn't suck, i like the super mario bros movie ) but then i'm not a fan of the series, i scare easy so i guess my point isn't that valid, a DoA hentai would be funny *cant see faces through enormous jiggly hoohoos* but then mai shiranui > doa girls...DOES THIS POST HAVE A POINT? =o

i want a tetris movie.

The resident evil movie was actually alright compared to other game movies.
The thing I find weird is that it didn't scare me. It wsa just 'another' zombie flick.
There is something about the sense of isolation, loneliness, eerie silences and loss of hope that makes movies like The Others, 6th Sense and The Ring more scary than Elm Street, Halloween or Scream. Much like the original Alien movie, which I will see for the first time when it re-releases in cinemas. I can't find it anywhere in my videostore.

In all honesty, I will prolly go to see the DOA just to make my dick happy
