Sounds very good if that 30 hours is a proper number.  If you think about it...many people call the Pokemon GBA games 30 hour games cause they can easily be beaten in 30 hours, but being the addict I am (as with many other people out there) I have over 300 into my game.  Hopefully this Col. RPG mode will keep me in just as long.  The 67 number is kind of odd.  Makes me wonder if that is exactly how many pokemon are going to be left out of both ruby/sapphire and red/green so you can complete a pokedex.

I refuse to even think about buying a game like Pokemon Colosseum.  When Nintendo actually starts THINKING and releases a complete GameCube Pokemon RPG, then I'll listen.

I'm really starting to get interested in Colosseum. There is also a new trailer at GameCube Land. This trailer really made me even more curious about it.

30 hours?! Im really not sure if I believe that or not, but hey if it is true I am even way more excited then I was 10 min ago. I expected 2-5 hours at the most for this mode but not anywhere near 30.

Next time(maybe for Ninty's next system?), I want the RPG mode to take precedence over the stadium mode...But at the moment, I'm feeling really good about this game. ^_^

over 30 hours in RPG mode?
*eyes light up*

But yeah, I agree with Bill. This game is really starting to sound interesting, but the RPG mode should take precedence over the stadium.
Full-on Zelda-esque adventure please Nintendo and Game Freak!

And hey Caterkiller, we'll see if the PRG mode lasts 2 hrs or 30.

30 hours assumes you take your time.  As in the GB games, you can rush through the game, or you can take your time to level up your Pokemon.  Choose how you like, but I'm going with the latter

I'm surprised no one's said anything about Baten Kaitos - we've been waiting for a good original RPG for a while now. It looks spectacular (see recent trailer), it even has full CG cutscenes. I'm anticipating this almost more than Tales of Symphonia.

I just HOPE PC is harder than Red/Blue. It feels bad when the only challenge in the game is trying to capture Mewtwo. Maybe they could increase the difficulty by strengthening elemental advantages, I ran through the first game by almost only using one plant pokemon, outleveled every enemy I encountered by 20-30!

I have no faith in Pokemon Coliseum. A decent 3D Pokemon RPG with 30 hours of gameplay would sell so unbelievably well I can't see how Nintendo wouldn't hype it up. Of all the people I've talked to who have ever played the GB Pokemon RPGs, every single one of them said they would immediatly buy a GC if a Pokemon RPG was released for it.

Blasphemy!

And KDR, stop leveling up that much then.  That's what I did my second time through...I made sure I was at most equal to my next opponent

Pfft, I didn't level! I levelled my secondary pokemon, but my "champion" never needed that. Maybe that happens when you insist on exploring every angle of the dungeon. I did the same in Grandia 2 and it was too easy, too. Maybe japanese developers don't expect you to do that?

Pale: Too bad, you took yourself the only true challenge in the whole game. Mewtwo is a nice change of pace from chrushing all enemies with one blow.

I was always under the impression that mewtwo was impossible to catch otherwise...Guess I was wrong.

Just like the other rare pokemon, you have to have Mewtwo in the red, as well as either paralyzed or asleep to catch him without a master ball.  But even then you have to throw a dozen ultra balls to catch him

His ability to regenerate adds a LOT to the fight! And, of course, that his primary attack ignores defense and has no ineffective types (except psycho, but those won't even survive the weakened damage). Man, that guy is the ultimate killing machine!
I think on level 100 he does something like 380 damage (Psychic does as much damage as you have Special stat points), only a select few even survive the initial blow. No matter, the second blow is always enough.

Pokemon Colosseum has managed to turn from "another stupid Stadium game" to one of my most anticipated titles.  And of course it's all thanks to the RPG mode that fans have been asking for for YEARS.  However I'm still going to wait for reviews just in case Nintendo has a different opinion on what RPG mode should be.  If it's just running around battling then I won't even rent the damn game (though my brother the Pokemon whore probably will buy it himself).  If it involves exploring the world, catching wild Pokemon, and fighting gym leaders for badges like the GB games then I will get this game the first day it comes out.

I'm a little worried though since if this is what we all hope it is then it's a pretty big feature and Nintendo has not really hyped it up much.  They didn't mention it at all at E3 for example leading everyone to think it was just another dumb Stadium game.  This RPG mode stuff wasn't revealed until recently which suggest that it either isn't that big of a deal or it was just added at the last minute.  I figured that Nintendo would be hyping the hell out of this feature.

I wouldn't expect a badge collecting mission.  Based on what we see I'm thinking its going to be a step towards the darker (albeit slightly) side of pokemon.  Based on what I've read it seems the mission will be something along the lines of rescuing pokemon and have nothing to do with badges.  I think it sounds pretty cool, and kind of like nintendo is testing the waters when it comes to getting away from the "i wanna be the very best" theme of all the games.

From what I head the player has the power to steal Pokemon from other trainers. Add his slightly evil look to that and...
