I think that it's stupid and that elections shouldn't be a popularity contest.  Actually, all polititions should be shot off into space.  Even the ones with alot of muscles.

His first act should be "muscles for everybody!" and instead of kssing babies, and shaking hands and all that garbage, he should get everybody PUMPED UP!

Hey nolimit, guess what?  I actually mostly agree with you.    I wouldn't say I'm glad Arnold won but I really hope this state has a turn for the better.  I think alot of people were just sick and tired of politicians thinking that they could say or do whatever it took to get into and stay in office.  I am glad Gray Davis was recalled.  I hope this sends a message to many politicians that they are here to serve us not themselves.

Card board box what the hell are you talking about.  No where in my statement did I demean the character or integrity of Arnold.  I love him (not in that homo-erotic touchy feely way) and I watch his movies quit frequently.  He ran amongst a hoard of questionable candidates and I find it funny how the election played out.  I was hoping that arnold won, and he did.  It will be interesting to see how he handles his new position as governor.

It would have been a hella lot funnier if Gary Coleman had won. . . but I'm fine with this I think it'd be better if all are politicians were funny instead of qualified.

Yes, that does count.  And he has a sense of humor, to an extent.  But only if you pay close attention.  So yeah, I'm happy with our President.

Gary Coleman... Lol who can take him serious, he's two feet tall.   I wonder what it would have be like for him to stand at the podium and give a speech.  LMFAO, that would be so hilarious.

I think you guys wouldn't be so glad that Arnold is governor if you lived in California, which I do unfortunately. The reason is, he has no experience whatsoever and he doesn't really know how to run a state. He hasn't outlined any plan for solving all of California's problems, he just says that he'll fix them somehow. Hopefully he has some good advisers...

You've gotta see the good in this, Molobert! Sure, his idea of running the state will most likely make as much sense as crushing a beer can with a feather.. But if you're ever attacked by Terminators, YOU'LL BE SIGHING A SIGH OF RELIEF. YOU'VE GOT ARNIE!

LOL Infernal.  God, what have we gotten ourselves into?

Molobert, I don't know if my post made it clear that I also live in California.  I agree this is not great.  But I also think Gray Davis is a poohead who deserves to be thrown out of office on his bony hiney.  Have you heard of all the people he's been appointing last minute and all of the bills he's been pushing through?  I hate him.  He's an immoral opportunistic jerk who is now showing how little concern he really has for our state by appointing all these people who if fired by Arnold, get their sick and vacation paid out.  Nice, especially considering how screwed up our budget is already.  Just add some more cost for the state to deal with.

I'm at an age where politics don't really concern me, but I should start paying more attention to them.  I rue the day when I have to think about who I would vote for, and what they can do, and taxes and bills and all that stuff.  It must be frustrating.

Oh well, better you than me.

Still better than Davis there, lollers.

Somebody elsewhere made a good point that Ahnuld wouldn't be busying himself looking for a shot at the presidency like a lot of other governors may do. Not a born-citizen of the U.S., y'see.

Ms. Pikmin and SUPER - I definitely agree that Gray Davis was not the ideal governor--because of him many teachers were fired from my school and much of our funding was also cut--I just think there was probably a better solution than electing Arnold (like Gary Coleman ).

Molobert, I agree.  I just hope my doubts about how he will handle the position turn out to be unfounded.   I want things to get better here.  I want to be proven wrong on my concerns.  But, as I stated above, I really loathe Gray Davis and don't think Arnold could do much worse.

those that say arnold is not qualified need to think it over....who is qualified.....life long politicians that have ruined the state....i live in cali and arizona half and half so it effects me either way.....and there are just so many issues that are so deep. the governator and all govennators have so many advisors its not funny. essentially they know close to nothing on most issues. the person you should end up voting for is the person who has their ideals as close to yours as possible because when they are presented with info, they will react accordingly. anyone can be govenor will a little speach giving ability. i wouldnt worry about him being qualified....i actually like his moderate stance. despite the fact that i am anti baby killing and homo-sexual marrige, i tihnk its great that he is pro business and pro environment....somehting that seems to be inpossible for most politicians. and at least he isnt handing out free bees like drivers lisences to illegals....davis did that just to get votes and i despise him for it. he turned down the same bill last year and now he passes it to get votes. what a joke and was a loser...i am glad he is gone.

I think it is a joke that Arnold got in.  I for one did not vote for him.  The two main reasons why I didn't vote for him is because he refused to do any live unpromted debates, and he gave no plans on how he was going to solve the states problems only that he would solve them.  Not doing any unprompted debates doesn't show too much confidence or awareness on his part to me.

As far as the state's current financial situation, I don't put all the blame on Davis.  My American Government teacher from my community college used to work in D.C. and in Sacramento.  He said that every year, Califonia does not get its correct percentage of money back from the federal government each year from taxes.  Sure Davis could have pushed for it, but if Washington hasn't done anything in the past 5+ years, I wouldn't expect them to move any faster.

Man... None of you realize what Arnold is going to do. He is Arnold!!! There is only one thing he can do

He's gunna make California leave the Union. We are gunna turn into our own nation. Its going to be sick man. Just you watch. We will most likely merge a Union with Iraq or something along those lines. It was good being a United States citizen, but its time for us to leave. Its for the better.
