Broken GBA and GC mod
« on: September 12, 2003, 02:01:34 PM »
my gba sp recently fell off of my 6 ft tall dresser. after turning it on with mario kart in it, i could hear the game music, and even select single player mode, character, and track. it even played the track and i could race. Unforftunately i cant see a thing. there's nothing on the screen at all.  so i have two questions about this... is there anyway i can fix this without further breaking it, and i imported the gba sp, bcuz i wanted it in black and i have no patience. will NOA repair it? i know the warranty would be void, but i'd be more than willing to pay the service fees.

my other question is whats the best way to mod a GC to play imported games?? I want to import the Naruto fighting game. If you don't know Naruto is a kick a$$ anime that unfortunately only airs in Japan right now, so the chances of America getting this game are slim to none.

1. Technically there's no difference between a black and blue/platin GBASP so I guess they should be able to repair it.

2. Freeloader.

Naruto is an average fighting game. It gets points for following the style of the anime (minus the music), but there's hardly any depth to it at all, even as a fighter. After you get all the characters, there's no compelling reason to keep playing. i wrote my impressions on it in the Import forum, do a search for it.

Freeloader is a quick (and portable) way to play imports. It's currently what i use. However, if you can find a place that mods GCs online, i'd recommend that method. Freeloader doesn't show Japanese characters correctly, and in some games (like F-Zero) some graphics don't show at all.
