« on: September 05, 2003, 08:33:29 PM »
I remember hearing a while back that Sonic was suppose to be in the new Mario Kart game from Mr. Miyamoto. I have searched the intrenet and I have found nothing ever since. Does anyone still know about this rumor?

Shouldn't Mario characters be in Mario Kart?  I mean, they do include Donkey Kong in all Mario (party/sports) games, but that's only because they have similar roots, and still remain close.  Sonic and Mario are not related at all.

It wasn't a rumor. Miyamoto actually said Sonic MIGHT be in the game as a secret character. Actually, for all we know, that could still be the case too.

Sonic is a super-sonic headchog (sp?)  He can move faster than the speed of sound.  Do you think a dinky little kart could keep up  with that?

the real reason hes not in the new mario kart is because Jaleel White aka "Steve Urkel" was busy filming Family Matters: The Movie

Sega's early Mario Kart clone, Sonic Drift had Sonic farting around in a slow go-kart.
I'd love to see Sonic in Mario Kart... Maybe with a Sonic themed track, too. Mmmmmm, Green Hill Zone.

Hedgehog

They actually already have a Sonic kart racing game on the Game Gear which is playable in Sonic Adventure DX on the GC.

I'd love for this to happen but it probably won't  I do know that Yuji Naka is a BIG fan of Nintendo and of Miyamoto.  I wish they would get together on a game, that would be really sweet.

I actually met Yuji Naka at this years E3.  He gave me an autograph and he posed for a picute with me.  I kept telling him that I loved his stuff, yet he spoke almost no english, so he just nodded politely, lol!  That guy rules!  His translator, who also barely spoke english, was able to pass on some of my comments.  I asked the translator how Mr. Naka liked working with Nintendo, and he honestly seemed pleased with the situation.
