Ok, here it is non-insiders! Someone has posted a downloadable version of the opening movie...though...it is kind of weird how they did it...

First, go here.

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.consoles-games.com/forum/viewtopic.php%3Ft%3D3074 &prev=/search%3Fq%3DTales%2Bof%2BSymphonia%2Bopening%2Bmovie%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26safe%3Dactive

(it's long cause it's translated)

Then, download BOTH "videos". They aren't actually both videos. Video1 is a program in which you need Video2 to run, which will extract the movie to your computer. To, extract it, just run program that comes in Video1(when you have downloaded Video2, of course) and click the bottom left button. I told you it was weird. After it is extracted.....WATCH IT!!!

Also, I found another place to get the opening from. Though, this place has a suprisingly larger file, so I have yet to download it to see if it has anything the one above doesn't. You can find this one here:

http://ruliweb.intizen.com/data/rulinews/read.htm?num=11159

(click the link above the menu pic; it should have "mpg" beside it).

However, be warned, this file is 53MB! This site also has "game footage"....but it's 134MB!!!! So, I didn't even attempt downloading that. But, if you want to try.....

http://ruliweb.intizen.com/data/rulinews/read.htm?num=11160

go ahead.

And for these two files you have this person to thank.

http://majoria-news.tripod.com/

Well, that's it, get downloading and get watching the opening to one of the greatest RPGS EVER!!!!!!!(not to mention get listening to a pretty catchy song....and this is coming from a dude who listens to Disturbed and the like regularly....do you think that's weird? eh?)

I'm really stoked for this game, especially because of the battle system, which, as many of you may remember from the Baten Kaitos thread, is very important to me. IGN has said it's very similar to Grandia's in that's it's partially real time and partially turn based, and you have characters running all across the screen. In my opinion, the Grandia series has the best battle system in an RPG to date and any RPG that emulates that is worth a shot for me.

I'm a fan of Tales of Destiny and Tales of Eternia (Tales of Destiny II in America) and can't wait for this game. I'll be getting it the day it comes out. It's a shame that the Tales series has done so poorly in America.

i think that this game will turn out to be a great game- i really cant wait for this game to come out- the battle systems in tales games are very fun and very interesting- for what its worth i heard that the battle system in this game is like all other tales games, except that since it is in 3d you lock on to the enemy of your choice and thus make the line you fight them on- i would suggest anyone try a tales game to just see how the battle system will work- it basically will be like the other games, just in 3d- and i love all the good reviews this game is recieving- i cant wait till this game releases in the us- it will be good
i call the big one bitey.

I will be getting the game. The sales will be helped that it one of the Gamecube's first "true" major RPGs.

Wow, great link, Bishman. I understand it a lot better now.
Man, I'm super hyped about ToS. I could get the game while I was stying in HK, but that would take the whole experience away. Chances are for us Europeans, we have to wait like 12 months or worst case scenario would be not coming out at all. I pray to God that won't happen. I trust you Namco!

Yeah, among other things, it had computer icons and neat wallpapers.  The Collet wallpaper(sent from a buddy who visited Japan and got ToS (the lucky s.o.b. ^_^)) is currently on my laptop...

Its selling like mad in Japan right now and probably single handedly put the GCN on a pedastal above PS2. It also got rated very well on Degenki and Famitsu and they said the story was refreshing. Personally I think the anime cutscenes look uber cool

You sound excited Pro666. As you should be. I know I am. Um, do we know anything of the plot yet? Word on the street is, RPG's have very in–depth plots.

ya and that's why I love them.........

Its like playing a very action packed yet emotional movie. Also I love the Tales series for the fact that they have very beautiful anime cutscenes that bring you into the game. I've seen realistic FMV so many times that I'm simply not impressed with it anymore, and it also takes me out of the game completely.

Don't say that. Realistic FMV can be good. Just for posterities sake I will tell you that the plot has something to do with some evil that was sealed away and you're the descentant of the person responsible for this. ENGUADE! CLICHE!

Basically there are two worlds, and their actions affect the other.  When one world is prosperous, the other is in disarray, and vice versa.  The solution to the problem:  Collet Brunel.  Lloyd(the main character), Collet, and some friends set out to restore the balance between the two worlds.

Hey, well-done anime has charm, a charm you might find quite different than the charm in realistic CG.

Thank you Bishman!  Time to download this beast...

BAD-ASS!  The song plays so well with what's going on...I hope they put it in the U.S. version as an extra...

(I also hope they find good VAs for the English version.  The last thing I want is crappy voice-acting in my most anticipated game >_< )

one last edit: I hope there will be a ToS anime...They have a Tales of Eternia series, so it's very possible

I think you have it all wrong... If this one plays anything like the other Tales games, it's NOTHING like Grandia. All the other Tales games have a battle system which is more like a 2D fighting game. That's not a bad thing at all; I think it's one of the most entertaining battle systems ever.

Guys, if you're hyped about this and haven't played the others, go get them! Tales of Destiny 1 and 2 on the Playstation! I also own Tales of Phantasia on the PS, but it was only in Japanese...

The battle system in ToS is more comparable(if not about equal) to Star Ocean...which isn't a bad thing at all

I'm not a fan of japanese pop music. I'm not saying the music doesn't fit the opening movie, I'd just rather have something else.

Most of the time the voice acting in american games/shows, are better than its japanese counterpart. The first example I could think of is  Dragonball Z, goku and vegeta sound alot better than their japanese versions. I'm not saying there aren't exceptions, becuase there are, just from what I've experience, american voice acting is just a little better.

If there taking this long to translate and record voice overs, then they better get it right. No crappy FFX or RE voiceacting....I want Eternal Darkness good.
