I like "Raine" more than "Regal," though I really don't approve of "Genius" to "Genis" (dirty Namco ) and Colette's name change...(Collete is her name in the game, I believe...)

From that, I expect Kratos' name to be changed to Krapos...

You... <points finger at Bill> ...dare insult the mighty Kratos?! You shall pay for this... oh yes... (not really)

BTW Raine is Refill's new name, not Regal. Silly Bill...

I know its off-topic and everything but in Soul Calibur 2 Noboyuki Hiyma (Link OoT) also does Nightmare and Yoshimitsu
Fujiko Takimoto (Young Link OoT) does Taki
Takashi Nagasako (Ganondorf OoT and Tww) does Cervantes
Also did you know that the voice for the Skull Kid in Majora's Mask plays Link in the Wind waker (Sachi Matsumuto)

Well thats my pointless information for the day

Oh and I think Nightmare (Japanese) is way better much more emotion in him

And to bring it back on topic Tales of Symphonia will be class, it fixes everything thats can be annoying in RPG's control of your character in battles, no random battles and other stuff which I cant think of
To The finder... the island of Koholint, is but an illusion... human, monster, sea, sky... A scene on the lid of a sleeper's eye... Awake the dreamer, and Koholint will vanish much like a bubble on a needle... Cast-Away, you should know the truth!

I just heard some of the dialog spoken in English... and it is very stale.  GG stupid companies dubbing stuff.  Dubs from Japanese/Chinese/Korean to English rarely are good.  I really despise this part of American culture.  Totally detracts from the game.  Hopefully they fix it up by allowing an option to change languages before it goes gold (doubt it)

Ign have a major TOS update.

Really has me excited for the game. Is the release date still the 13th of July?

Kyosho: You expected otherwise? The only time I've ever heard a dub that didn't suck was Kingdom Hearts, and that doesn't even really count because most of the characters were Disney and should be speaking English anyway.
Anything with an anime look and feel should have Japanese voices, though, because there's never been a good anime dub in history (I don't care what anyone says, the Cowboy Bebop dub was atrocious, especially compared to the amazing Japanese cast).
Frankly, the prospect of having to put up with English voices is really killing my desire to buy both ToS and Baten Kaitos...if they'd leave the Japanese voices alone I'd most definetly buy them both, no brainer.

Funny you mention that, cuz Baten Kaitos is animated for English-speaking characters.  (unless Namco pulled a fast one on me and made 2 sets of CG for 2 languages.  The E3 trailer I have has me convinced it's geared towards English.  I believe it's the same CG presentation for BK's original press conference; I vaguely remember seeing videos of the conference with japanese subs and english dubbing.)

They can dub it with monkeys and I'll still buy it.  I need RPGs!

Edit:  I actually had a constructive comment to add here.  I read the new impressions of the English version of the game, and I totally agree with Jonathan Metts' complaint that RPGs are becoming too angsty lately.  I don't mind covering serious issues or characters having a bad day, but a lot of people seem to mistake depressing, melodramatic seriousness for good writing.
That's my opinion, not yours.

Perhaps they're just seeing the success of Final Fantasy compared to more lighthearted RPGs?

As reported from IGN, Namco is giving you an option to turn off the voices.  So it looks like i will be buying this game once again.

Quite. Resident Evil's voice acting was deplorable but the game was still a lot of fun. Put your TV on mute if you have to- that technology has existed for years, it doesn't have to be built into the game.

ludicrous ... possibly.  Unreasonable? My $$$, I can do what I want.  If I feel it ain't worth it, then I simply won't buy it.  People can bash all they want on the subject, but RPGs are meant to be an enjoyable experience, and if one thing detracts from that, then the consequence can be justified.

As usual you are full of ignorance MC.  People still want to hear music + sfx.

Actually, you could mute the game just for the cutscenes and then unmute once they were over...

But the option is there to turn them off so there's no point in arguing about it...

Yeah, I'm ignorant because I'm brainstorming new ideas for you to enjoy a game. I figured you might mind missing out on the sound effects and music a little less than the entire game. Your welcome.

Sorry to ask this out of the blue but does anyone know if there's going to be a way to turn off the English voices or switch over to the original Japanese voices in Tales of Symphonia? I haven't seen any info on it on the net plus I can't view any of the newer trailers either (only Quicktime and mpeg works on my comp). Much thanks (and sorry if this may be redundant - too many pages to scroll through and I'm lazy )
