Topic: Pikmin 2 is delayed?

There is word that Pikmin 2 may be delayed [or moved] to a release date of January 1st, 2004.

Pikmin 2 'would' come out in the very crowded month of October, sharing releases with games like Viewtiful Joe, XIII, Kirby Air Ride, Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike, and Tony Hawk's Underground, amoung others.

NO!!! Say it aint so.  That's the one game I was looking forward to the most.
Just checked.  You are right.  It isn't 1-1-04, it's 5-1-04!  How depressing!

Hmm, it would make sense to delay it, at least from a business standpoint. And probably from a customer standpoint. I am now broke because Soul Calibur 2 and F-Zero were released during the same week, and I had a similar problem back in March, when both Wind Waker and Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire were released.

Releasing these gems of gaming goodness so close together would be akin to Disney releasing Lilo & Stitch and Finding Nemo on the same weekend.

Heck yeah, for once i want some great releases in january-april.....we only had one this past year.  I can't play all those games at once anyway.

Yea, it sucks when games get delayed, but as previously stated, this was probably a business decision, and not because the game is ready.  This does however mean that the game will probably come out extremely polished, and a very good title to keep things moving next year.  I remember back in the N64 days, there were some mediocre releases during the year, and we always seemed to be waiting for the holliday season.

I can find absolutely no reason to see the former- in my opinion, Disney hasn't made a good feature film since Hercules (The Emperor's New Groove was great, but it was more an afterthough). In fact, Pixar's movies are grossing several times more than Disney's, and for good reason. I doubt Walt Disney would be happy with the way his company has gone.

Well going back to the non-Disney topic I'm disappointed that Pikmin 2 may be delayed (I loved the first game) but I think in the end this is for the better.  There are tons of games I want coming out in Oct/Nov and I realistically don't have enough time to play them all.  If Pikmin 2 is delayed then it gives me more time.  Plus I'll give it more attention if it's released on it's own instead of as one of like five must-play games.
