Yeah, this is kind of idiotic.
Nintendo didn't take any drastic measures to help the Gamecube when it was struggling in Australia. Did nothing when it was dying in Australia. It's only after the console has basically died, been buried, and forgotten in Australia that Nintendo finally decides to do something.
Who knows. This might work though. I doubt Nintendo is going to spend 10 million in advertising only to allow stores to get away with not even selling its console. I'm sure Nintendo is aware of stores giving its console the shaft and intends to do something about it.
But, seriously, none of this really matters all that much.
Australia is such a tiny and almost insignificant market afterall.
I'm surprised Nintendo isn't just dismissing it entirely.
