The original N64 Dinosaur Planet trailer!!!!!
« on: August 18, 2003, 03:45:36 AM »
I was downloading the Star Fox Adventures MP3s when i realised that the song 'Galleon Raid' was the music from the original game.
I heard the song on the trailer, and after hours of searching, I found the original Trailer!!
The music still holds up to the GC version, and the graphics are still great to look at!

Obviously no direct linking, so cut and paste the URL:

http://www.dkvine.com/games/dp/movies/movies.html
then click on 'Galleon Raid, gameplay clips'.

Enjoy!!!

oh how i would have loved to see this game on the N64 not having anything to do with Star Fox.  We could've had a classic star fox game on the GC AND this.  I also read that the story in DP was much deeper than just "save the planet"

I'm surprised at the graphics.  I've always been kind of a person that prefers bad graphics to good.   But they have to be good bad graphics.  I don't want realsitic graphics so good I can't tell it's not real.  I want to know it's a video game,I want the blockiness, and that's why I like N64 and PS style graphics better than current gen graphics.  It's kind of like the people who grew up with SNES tend to prefer 2D graphics.  I grew up with N64, so N64 graphics are my fav.

of course, N64 graphics on the GC is completey unacceptable.

That looked pretty damn good for the Nintendo 64, I imagine the frame rate would of ended up a disaster, though. *Glances over at Perfect Dark*

Ooooh, I can't stay mad at you, Joanna...

*AHEM*

I like blocky graphics, too. They've got a certain charm to them.

This looks quite good.  Shame it never came out.

I myself prefer SNES grafics in my rpgs, but like GCN grafics in my platformers and adventure games.

I think that DP would have had a frame rate like Ocarina of Time.

I loved the N64 graphics.

Blimey that looked bloody awesome. Struth Barramundi. That looks PS2ish.

Why did Rare have to stuff it up?! The final game, SFA, looked like it was dumbed down on purpose, as if Rare took stuff out of the game and screwed things up on purpose, and there were some parts in it that just made me say "WHY?!" (although it is still a great game) . And in that trailer it looks much more epic, and there are things in the trailer that werent even in the final game. It has nothing to do with the Starfox license being introduced though, i liked having Fox in the game. SFA could have been so much better, i suspect Microsoft had something to do with that. Why didnt Nintendo delay Conker for the cube and keep this on the N64? It would have been so much better for both games, stupid Nintendo. I should run Nintendo.
