Topic: No Metroid?!?

I was kinda surprised that there is no Metroid discussion in the game-specific forums.  I mean isn't that a big enough series?  Believe me, I would start it, but I've only just started playing Metroid, so I still know like nothing about the series.  Are there really not enough Metroid fans out there to start a discussion?  That's kinda sad.  Where are all you guys?

There are. . . about five or six Metroid games.  Mario has nearing 100, I'm sure, and Link has probably almost twenty.  Those are the only two game specific forums (aside from AC and that online thingy, and those are for trading stuff).  So I daresay it's not a big enough series.  There is a poll about making more game specific forums, though, and you can vote at the view forum polls link at the top of the page.

Hostile, Mario has near 100?!?!  Link has almost 20!?!?!?!?!?!?  Name twenty Zelda games, i dare you.  I can name ten that are out, thirteen including upcoming games.  100 mario games?  name them, I double-dare you.

as for Metroid area, I feel it would be slower than the PSO area.

Maybe I was a bit extreme, but that's counting, of course, Mario Party games, Mario sports games, and any games involving Mario as a playable or important character.  There are undoubtedly at least fifty.

As for Zelda games, I can think of. . . 9 that have already been released.  And I think there may be a GBA game. . . and of course there's SSB, two more games (though Samus is also in those), and the three upcoming games.  That's up to fifteen, which is certainly nearing twenty.

There have been 9 Zelda actual games and 6 actual Mario games (7 if you count Yoshi's Island). That's not much more than Metroid's 5 released games with a 6th on the way. Besides, there's only been 1 Animal Crossing and 2 PSO's, yet they have discussion boards. Obviously popularity is what decides whether a game should have it's own board, not number of games released, and Metroid is VERY popular (at least here).

Well there's currently 5 Metroid games and 2 more that should be out by next year. That's a total of 7 games we can discuss. I've actually made mention of wanting a Metroid board a couple of times before so I would definitely want one. If we beg and whine enough I'm sure they will give us one. Anyone remember when the GameCube section in the old boards would be full of Zelda topics due to the Cel-shaded controversy? The mods got so sick of the clutter and noobies coming in just to bitch that they finally forbid us from making Zelda topics. In response a few of us said "why don't you make a Zelda board". The mods came up with some lame crap about how if they gave Zelda a board they would have to give all the game series a board or something like that. Of course the mods saw the light and gave us a Zelda board. Some time later they gave us a Mario board for really no reason. Did anyone actually request a Mario board? Anyway just keep whining and eventually they'll give in.
