Topic: Dead Pheonix Canned!?!??!

On gamesradar.com it says that Dead Pheonix has been cancelled as of August 8th. Does this mean that all the rumours about Dead Pheonix being Kid Icarus false? If this is true, it sucks, because Dead Pheonix looked like a really awesome game!

I also read on themagicbox.com that it was cancelled. It only says Dead Pheonix was cancelled and what I mean is it's name was cancelled. It doesn't mean they won't use the same engine to do Kid Icarus.

I believe the original transcript wasn't translated correctly.  It was meant to say that Dead Phoenix has been "put on hold."  If it means that the game will stay the same and will be continued at a later date or that it's being modified into a KI game is completely up to speculation.

yeah...also it looked nothign like kid icarus other then the character had wings. If it does turn into kid icarus though then they better really play with its asthetics and gameplay. KI played more like metroid then anything. But 1st person aint right for a game about a cupid boy.

On Gamecube Advanced, they found that the game has also been removed from Capcom's list of games.  Unfortunately, things are not looking good for this one.  Had good promise too.

There is a NES version, as well as a GB version.

Kid Icarus is such a good series, but I don't believe Dead Phoenix looked anything like how I would imagine an updated version. I do think Capcom would be good for that series though. I would really like to play a game that relies heavily on greek architecture and myth.

I'm surprised that Dead Phoenix is cancelled..... it was one of the five gamecube exclusives. I was looking forward to it myself...

this game could be totally dead- according to gamespot it was taken off the capcom japan release list along with red dead revolver and another game (forget which one)

I'm gonna be so pissed if this is true. Dead Phoenix was easily the best looking out of the Capcom 5 and was one of my most anticipated titles. Don't screw this up Capcom.

Well if it's true that the game is being made into/was scrapped in favor of a Kid Icarus title, then it technically isn't Dead Pheonix anymore is it?
