Yeah I just finished reading that before coming voer here. All it did was make me want the successor to GameCube bad now

There's Too Human and possibly a realistic Zelda and for those who like it, Metroid Prime 2. Just think of how strong of a launch Nintendo could have for their successor!

-Pokemon RPG (if not on GCN)

They gotta do a Pokemon RPG sometime!! I could see why they would ignore it on the N64 due to the cartridge and possible space limitations, but now with GameCube and internet connections, this would be a easy money maker for Nintendo, and a HUGE money maker to other RPG fans if the game is done right.

The Kid Icarus thing makes sense.... Nintendo fans have been asking for it for years... What would it cost Nintendo to finally hook us up?

That's great. An article that's suppose to clear up rumors but really just spreads more. Just the kind of responsible journalism to be expected from a respectable site like IGN

Why did they call it Fact or Fiction? They weren't even sure of half the stuff (thus they're still RUMORS), and as the above poster pointed out, they just added fuel to the fire of other rumors (StarCraft on Xbox, a new Kid Icarus) and brought new rumors that were completely out of left field (Factor 5 on Xbox). Ah well, there was a bit of pertinent information buried in there. The next Zelda game will have a different Link and new gameplay elements, Prime 2 will have more third person parts, etc.

I'm with them on Too Human, though. Practically nothing is known of the game and it's already reached unbelievable hype on the Internet. Such a great launch game (assuming it's half as good as everyone hopes it will be). They shouldn't flood the market with great games at launch though. They really just need Too Human and a genuine Nintendo game, original or from a franchise. Even if other games are ready at launch, the schedule should be staggered so the next huge game doesn't come out for a month or two. Otherwise, you'll suffer from serious droughts later on, and the impatient types will sell off their consoles.

I guess I got a bit off topic...but IGN's article will only cause further turmoil for us poor GC fans. I still have uncontrollable spasms as a result of MEGATON.

too human will most likely launch for nintendo's new system
another zelda will probably come out for gc next year (like majora's mask to ocarina)
i would like to see kid icarus made from dead phoenix (maybe thats the franchise mikami wants to work with when he approached nintendo...)
mp2 will come out for gc next year- miyamoto even said that

and maybe for a new rumor- super mario 128 will launch for nintendo's new system as well.....

I feel Too Human will launch with GC2.
Factor 5 can make Xbox games/hardware stuff, since they're 3rd party anyway. Thing is, I actually feel weird, cause the team is like Rare to me. They make all this amazing stuff for us, and they are a 3rd party! I mean, you don't get as much dedication like that!!
MP2 and WW2 will be on GC. A realistic Zelda is probably the next, and logical step when moving the Zelda series to GC2.
Kid Icarus......I must be one of the only Nintendo fans who hasn't played it, or seen it. But if Dead Phoenix is dead, Kid Icarus sounds pretty good. I mean, Capcom is the only developer who isn't making a 3D franchise from an old Nintendo character.

Here's a quote from the article that freaks me out a little:

"Nintendo seems to believe that the cel-shaded style is an appropriate choice for the [Zelda] franchise."

I really hope they mean "for this generation". Realistically it would save a great deal of money to stick with the same engine. However I don't want that cel-shaded look to stay around forever. I consider it an unsuccessful experiment and I think Nintendo should regard as such as well. As much as I like Wind Waker I greatly prefered the graphic style of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and I think sales figures agree with me. Ocarina of Time was one of the biggest sellers of all time and a system seller while Wind Waker wasn't.

Like most people are saying I think IGN is creating more rumours here then dispelling them. Most of these rumours I had never heard of until I read that article.

I consider that a GOOD thing. Nintendo has just been WAY too sequel happy lately and I'd rather see something new. Besides if Dead Phoenix is turned into Kid Icarus then it's just another Star Fox Adventures and we all no how THAT turned out. Shoehorning an existing franchise into a new game just isn't worth it.

As for Starcraft: Ghost I think it would be pretty mean of Blizzard to tell everyone that it's a multiplatform game when they know it's an Xbox exclusive. Just tell us outright what's up. Why risk pissing off two userbases (one of which is huge) by "lying" to everyone?

I liked cel-shading, possibly more than the graphical style of OoT and MM. But I wouldn't mind going back to realism or them trying a new idea altogether. And Metroid Prime 2 is coming out for Gamecube, supposedly next year.

Kid Icarus better not be made from dead pheonix..i want 2d or 2.5d for my Pit! Its been long enough Nintendo, just make the damn game...Launch for the new NES would be great ..i'd be willing to wait if they simply admitted its in the works. Bring on Wild Gunmen next!

Id rather get sequels to games like Kid Icarus, Punch Out, Wild Gunman, Star Tropics, Excitebike than "new" games like Zelda Tetra trackers, or Four Swords...

I think you guys can stop worrying about Starcraft Ghost being Xbox exclusive. The latest rumors talk about Xbox exclsuivity.... BUT a TIMED exclusive ( like Splinter Cell ). Of course if you want the best version of Starcraft Ghost... get the Xbox version.

That's what I meant by sequel happy. I don't consider those Zelda games to be new games. Well technically they are but they still use an existing franchise which is what I was complaining about. I want something BRAND new. A new game with new characters.
