Game Designers Studio working on a new game!!!
« on: August 06, 2003, 02:55:44 PM »
Square's subsidiary Game Designers Studio is working on a new title called Kechirase Caravan Road, the platform is unspecified.

I found this at the the-magicbox.com.  Though the platform is unspecified, GDS is being funded by Nintendo's Fund Q so the chances of it appearing on GameCube is pretty high.

I doubt it. The "real" Square is making GBA games.
I think it's safe to assume GDS was created and is funded by Nintendo for the sole purpose of making GCN games.

The platform is undecided which means there are choices, so it's probably a console game.

GDS was created to make Nintendo games for whatever platform, and has a single employee.

Anyways, I just wanted to say to you guys:  "I told you so."    RPGs take a long time to develop, and I knew that Square would have more than FF: CC and FFT: Advance to offer us.  I am personally betting that this new announcement is about a GBA game, and another GCN game will be announced in the next 6 months.
Once I had, a little game

I think you know the game I mean

Ninja's right- GDS was created for the sole purpouse of getting around Sony's ownership of Square and making Gamecube games. Like he said, it has only one employee, who owns 51% of the "company"- Square owns the other 49%. GDS is really just a name to slap on games. I certainly hope this is a full fledged game and not a downloadable minigame like Fish says he heard. I'm getting the distinct feeling from Square that the only reason they're making FF:CC is to make GBA games.

That's what they're probably doing except it would be a mistake to consider Crystal Chronicles as some cheap GC game created by Square in order to develop for the GBA.
