Metroid? Seriously? This isn't 2002 anymore. No one's been asking for Metroid. People have been petitioning to cancel any Metroid games even in development these days.




Mario + Rabbids. Even more Mario.




That's it!? It's OVER?!? WHERE WAS DONKEY KONG? HOW CAN THERE BE NO DONKEY KONG GAMES?! WHY DOES NINTENDO HATE MONEY? THEY GIVE METROID TWO BUT STILL CONTINUE TO DENY THEIR MOST BELOVED AND BIGGEST MONEY MAKERS IN WALUGI AND DONKEY KONG?! WAY TO FAIL ANOTHER E3, NINTENDO!!! 




Well, there's only one person who can help us now and do what Nintendo won't. You guessed it. The man, the myth, the legend himself.... Khushrenada.




Khushrenada: No Donkey Kong games? A most troubling development. I have a solution but you may not like it.


We'll play anything, Khushrenada. Just give us a DK fix.


Khushrenada: Very well. Even though we swore to never play it again and I do so hate to break my word on matters such as this, there is only one answer I see to your predicament. Safe Words. A Donkey Kong themed Safe Words to be exact. I can host another round of this wretched game if there are people willing to play it and I'll make sure you get your... monkey's worth.

Don't forget the popular Capcom: Double Cross feature. I'm sure ll of our fellow simian friends were disappointed that a game featuring gorillas (Congalala, Blango) was conspicuously absent from the E3 Switch announcements.

There's various Donkey Kong elements I could use for the list of words/phrases to choose from this game but I think I'm going to go with some of the great songs from the DK games and make it a battle of musical choices. Unless you players have some suggestions for things you'd like to see as choices.

I'll give sign-ups another couple days. We're at 6 and I'd like to see us just crack double digits in the 10-12 player range if possible. Lot of regulars missing (what's up with that?) so give them a chance to show up.

No, my roleplaying as BeautifulShy ended so there have been no pm messages sent. I thought we'd see more of a traffic boost with E3 so I wouldn't need to but maybe I'll have to send out some Safe Word invites.

Perhaps people are spending more time in the gaming forums and less time checking these lower ones?

I blame Discord. Might have to start moving all our forum games over there. While people are having video game conversations, we can interrupt them with random messages of voting for people, posts of who we think belongs to the mafia and blowing people up based on their choice from a list. We'll confuse the heck out of people who don't come to these forums or know what's going on.

Don't sound the death knell for the forums just yet. I'm still working on my great social media virus to take down chat rooms, twitter, facebook, reddit and instagram to leave forums as the victor and last internet social media feature still standing. Now that I'm mod I just need to get to admin level so that when I unleash the virus I will be one of the kings of the internet in the new social order. (And I need to boot Insanolord from admin status so that he doesn't benefit from this internet revolution.)

The top forums and news forums seem to be getting okay traffic. For me, sometimes I have a hard time discerning who's who.

Sorry on the delay of starting this game. I was just waiting to see if a couple other frequent players were going to join in. I sent out a couple direct messages to them just to make sure they received notice but I've heard nothing back and no one else has signed up so we'll go with the crew we've got. Nice thing about 8 people is that the game probably won't take as long (which may turn some people off from playing) and those that do sign-up have better odds of winning the game so congrats to all who have signed up so far. You've got a 1 in 8 chance of winning already.

I'll launch the game in a bit and then send out a notice when it is on.

I'm afraid sign-ups are closed and ended a few days ago. The game has already begun but you can watch it unfold to get an idea of how it works for next time.

This game reminds me of mine sweeper in that one area/ word is bad and you need to avoid it to win the game. Fun concept.
