Steampunk Strategy Game Ironcast Announced
« on: June 01, 2017, 09:36:31 AM »

Taking it back to Victorian times.

PC strategy title Ironcast will be coming to the Switch this summer.

Previously announced for Xbox One and PS4, the title is set in an alternate version of 1880's England and involves saving the nation from invading forces using large mechs. Resources are generated randomly so each invasion requires its own strategy.

The game is developed by Tearaway Unfolded developers Dreadbit and published by Extreme Exorcism publishers Ripstone.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

It looks like a match-three puzzle game, not a strategy game. I thought this was an RTS or SRPG similar to Advance Wars.

Yeah, at first read I thought this was an indie Mecha TBS game, but the video shows it's a puzzle game. I would hesistate to say Match 3 (Puzzle Quest-esque) though,  they show a chaining mechanic in there that far exceeds standard match three. Be interesting tobsee how much of a Mech Loadout Equipment aspext there is to this game.
