I'm having trouble getting it to work, When installing the catalyst software for XP drivers for the Display adapter I get a zero sefvice error or no VGA drivers found. I'm told I need standard VGA, and to disable the onboard video in bios. I'm having no such luck, after rebooting I get Windows XP loading Screen and then it fades to black or blue and an error will pop up and say hard error for a split second and then reboot.

I have seen nothing in bios about disabling the onboard video, I see product number, System something Perpherial Configuration, boot options, time and date, Advance Configuration.

but I checked everyone and just don't see an option to disable video.

I'm trying to install it in a 300Mhz Acer/Aspire Amd K6 PC  with 160MB of Ram and 40GB HDD and onboard ATI rage II+DVD, I have no idea what to do. Window XP detects the hardware and shows what it is serching for in the right hand bottom corner of the screen. It does it automactically, I try installing the software afterwards. But I still get an error about the display driver or adapter.

I know you have probablly done this and probablly said so, but you have disabled the onboard rage 2 right?

Also, do those drivers say they will work on winxp? If not it may be a good idea to check and see if you find one that will.

If you can't find the option to disable the onboard vid, you are pretty well out of luck.  Find if on the board somewhere online.  Should be in some sort of peripherals catagory.

It should be there somewhere.  I hate to say this, but look harder.    If not a disable option, there should be a selector that allows you to change your VGA adaptor from onboard to PCI or AGP cards.  My good old CUSL2 had such an option I believe.
