The BOXBOY series will end - for now - in Japan this February.

Nintendo announced "Goodbye! BoxBoy!" for the 3DS eShop today, along with a special physical release of the three games, a soundtrack and a new BOXBOY amiibo. The eShop release will be February 2 in Japan for 680 yen, while the physical release will be the same day for 3456 yen.

With the Japanese announcement just being made, there is no word yet on a Western release.

You know, I'd buy a Box Boy Amiibo.

As for the game, bring it on. That gameplay looks incredibly fun.

I still have to play the sequel though. The original was one of my favorite pastimes on public transportation.

I remember hearing that the simpler amiibos like Kirby had the highest markup due to being simpler to produce, so this one probably takes the record.
