New avatar!  Though it could change depending on my mood... ^_^

It's Rosette, the heroine from the new anime series based on the manga Chrno Crusade(that's not a typo)...

Shifty, Geocities doesn't allow offlinking, meaning we see a nice little no-picture box.

Change the file extension to .txt, and see what happens though.

Ah, the Ring.  My friend said some parts were mildly disturbing, but that it was generally overrated.  Yes, that does involve a creepy girl. . . and a video tape.  Something about when you see the video tape you die after a certain period of time.  Or something.

"The Ring" is very overrated; it's a remake of an Asian horror film "Ringu".  The reality is that it's a dumbed down version for American audiences.  Much of the plot was left out (trying to simplify the movie), along with the CONSTANT flashbacks that insult the viewers (flashbacks to the video constantly making the link that they assume viewers won't get themselves).  It wasn't a bad movie, but it's Japanese counterpart is superior.  I'm not a huge fan of Asian horror cinema, but there's some gems such as "Ju-on," "Odishan," " Versus," and the brilliant "Battle Royale."  Although there are some GREAT Asian horror films I still find myself a big fan of the Italian horror films of the 80's (which is great because Dario Argento's coming out with "The Card Player").  The one thing "The Ring" really had going for it was the cinamatography; the visuals were great!

My avatar is the AOL icon "remade".  I hate AOL with a passion, but he fits well dressed as Michael Myers of "Halloween" fame.  I usually go as "Doppelganger" on other boards I'm registered with (in fact I had Doppelganger registered on Planet GameCube a while ago) and I use an avatar that I drew that  seems to fit.

Ghost, I have seen both the Japanese and the English version of the first part of Ringu, and I assure you that I enjoyed the American remake TONNES more.

I enjoyed "The Ring", and I'm sure it's very possible to enjoy it more than the original; it's all opinions.  I just see "The Ring" as a big part of what's wrong with current American horror movies; it's about creating horrifying scenes instead of a horrifying movie... style without substance.

Well, to me it just seemed that the Japanese version lacked the impact of the American one.  It did indeed tell more of the story, but there wasn't anything there that I hadn't already inferred from the US version.  I thought the US version did a much better job of creating a suspenseful atmosphere, and maintaining it throughout the movie.

Be honest.  Does this dragon avatar look better than my metroid prime avatar?

No, but I'm a Metroid addict... so my opinion could be slightly biased.

New temporary avatar from Metal slug. I was sick of so much red on my last avatar.

Edit: It's a tank that we can paly in the game series called "Metal Slug", for those that were wandering what the avatar is.

Edit 2: Took out the white background to make it transparent.
