QUOTE RAPE TIME.
Quote
Sexual Orientation discussion is off limits, period.
Discussion of sexual orientation
is off limits. So, Bill discussed sexual orientation, did he?
Quote
You posted pictures of homosexual men
Oh. So he....posted a picture of people of a certain sexual orientation? And?
Quote
it is suggestive
ah. Why's that?
Quote
by simply the known fact that it is "yaoi" which means homosexual, which means surprise bumsex.
So, the picture of the homosexuals is suggestive because....they're homosexuals. Okay. So, we've got a "suggestive" picture of homosexuals, what's wrong with that?
Quote
I find that intensely inappropriate, if not for reasons of taste, for the very possibility that it might start heated political debates, which ALSO are not allowed.
So...it's inappropriate because it
might start heated political debates?
...
Bullsh*t. A picture of a homosexual could start a political debate, sure. Anything's possible. But then, a picture of a Jewish person could start a religious debate, couldn't it? Those are against the rules too, right? Religious debates?
As for sexual suggestiveness - look around. It's everywhere. Have you seen all the zero suit samus avatars (edit: ah, arbok beat me to it)? And I'm not even talking about the one really explicit one - I'm talking about all of them. Each and every one is a billion times more sexually suggestive than Bill's picture of two people laying in bed, fully clothed, playing DS. Look at Bill's previous avatars - yes, as he says, he's been using moderately suggestive avatars for years. You probably didn't notice because, up til now, none of them showed you anything that you feared (that was me calling you a homophobe.)
Don't get me wrong! I respect the rules, and the job that the mods do. I've seen unmoderated forums and they aren't fun. I don't want a place where people have 500 by 500 animated gifs featuring hardcore porn as avatars. But I also don't want a place where insidious prejudices are allowed to stand because they happen to belong to people with authority.
