Seems like that whenever there are rumors of a big announcement, nothing comes.
The actual big announcements seem to come out of nowhere with no warning.
If I recall correctly, that was the case with the Resident Evil series going Gamecube exclusive, Square's return to Nintendo, and the Capcom Five.

"OMFG!... not saying much mroe than that." can be interpreted in a number of ways. The "OMFG" could stand for a great company, for example Nintendo. The "!..." definately stands for a buyout, most likely by nintendo. The "not saying much" could mean Capcom and Sega, since capcom havent been saying much about Dead Pheonix, and Sega havent been saying much about Virtua Fighter Quest. "much more that that." could possibly mean Sunday, for some reason thats too complex for me to explain.

So, in conclusion, NINTENDO ARE BUYING SEGA AND CAPCOM ON SUNDAY!!!!!!! 111 1inoneone

No need to get excited just yet folks. Nintendo doesn't like hyping games too early because remember how pissed off we get when they get delayed? They only show games at the most 5months before release. Probably something worth checking back tho

You're right...it's their site (GCN = Gamecube Network) not the Gamecube (GCN = Nintendo Gamecube) that they're referring to...duh.

Megaton wasn't a hoax thought- the magazine that started it all had a lot of fans of a particular manga or anime or something, and a game based on it was coming to the Gamecube. The magazine said it was "big news", meaning big news for fans of the manga or anime or something, but everyone else blew it out of proportion into some end-all-be-all action by Nintendo.

Mario 128 will be delayed until the release of N5, as will Metroid Prime 2, and maybe Starfox Armada. That is my prediction. So, this megaton announcement on sunday's probably about the release of some new SNES quality games on Gamecube to fill that gap. Or maybe they'll announce that they're going to focus attention on software rather than hardware, and then reveal their new system: GBASSPXtreme. Or maybe they'll announce some WHOLE NEW franchizes that will be a big part of Nintendo's 2003 lineup.
